The Longshot

So I went back to bed feeling sad that I’m never gonna get to see a show. Woke up again listen to clips and have to say they sound amazing, the set list looked awesome and soul surrender sounds epic - I can’t wait to hear that in full. I was accepted on the Longshot page back when it had 150 followers and pictures of Marilyn and Elvis, now all this and it’s been an interesting , enjoyable ride. So thankful that Billie is doing this as it’s been something to focus on whilst work has been tough and my health really poor . So I’m gonna quit feeling sorry for myself that I’m too many hundreds of miles away and be happy it exists .

A night out together in Paris? Oh, wait, I have to check my agenda! I'll let you know, girl. Anyways, their concert in France from 2012 was the 1st time I've ever seen them live. I waited like... 8 years, since ''Boulevard of Broken Dreams'' single came out, basically, Lol Yeah, I'm listening to the EP on repeat, that's what happens with new Green Day or Green Day related stuff. No matter if I like it, love it, dislike it or whatever. I can't help it... :-) PS: I changed my avatar, enjoy, peeps.

You're deforming what I said. :tired: I was talking about both being Green Day fans from France, which is cool only to know because I haven't met a lot of fans around here. Anyways, thanks for sharing your experience.

I don't personally enjoy your new avatar, sorry...

I don't think it's fair to the rest of the world that the vinyls will apparently only be available at the shows :( We, who live outside of the US or not in the vicinity of California, don't get to attend the shows and now we can't even get a vinyl?

No it definitely does not FUCKING MATTER

Every year there becomes a point where I realize I’m not in a friendly place but a dungeon of people behind their keyboards obsessing about everything and nothing.

Apparently, people care. Way too fucking much about anything they can bitch about. Unreal.

You start a post with "No it definitely does not FUCKING MATTER" to do this elaborate response? You too care as much as any other people here.

We all come here because of our GD fandom, we all are people behind our keyboards and we all care about what we post and read here, that's human.

Even if I'm sometimes surprised that I can be part of some wrangling that I hadn't seen coming, well misunderstanding happens all the time, starting with real life, so on internet... It doesn't mean this place isn't friendly. Your description is wrong and condescending.

I should just move to California since all the cool and fun shit happens there lol

So who was in the band?

Posted

Rockaway / Bastards

Million Mices

Spoil the Party

WHAT ARE THESE????????

Also, I'm glad Billie wasn't trying to play guitar, bass and drums all by his lonesome.  That would have been hilarious....I mean bad.

I hate that the setlist.fm video feature is so useless.  I wanted to hear "Spoil the Party" and I got a video on why a person can't outrun a cheetah.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH

Billie, Jeff and the Prima Donna Guys. The lineup people found out and speculate about a month ago. But it doesn't confirm they played on the record

Probably covers. 'Spoil the Party' should be a beatles one that have some similarities with Chasing a Ghost's chorus

I think it's "A  million miles away" by the Plimsouls. They played it several times at the Coverups shows

Finally, I wanted to post about this the other day to see if anyone else felt the same but I didn’t want to be a Debbie downer.   I’ve lost track now but there was a day last week when I woke up and I was numb to the whole thing and almost disinterested in the latest post. As a fan it was a weird feeling. I felt like, having followed this for weeks the timing was off, it was simply going on too long and not getting anywhere and I’d really had enough. I can’t remember what did it but the very next day another post seemed to get things moving forward and got me back on track.  He took me right to the very edge but pulled me back at the last minute and whoever planned it this way is a genius who clearly knows what they’re doing.

Well played Longshot👏

I felt exactly the same way multiple times since this whole Longshot thing started. I even posted about my feeling in the Unpopular GD Opinions thread at one point. However, each and every time I was starting to feel that way, something significant would always happen and I'd be hooked all over again. They really did pull this shit off absolutely perfectly.

Did they actually play Ziggy Stardust that was question marked on the set List?

And I saw on Instagram they played Kiss Me Deadly (Generation X) at some point.   He has previously said that’s his favourite song or the perfect love song or something like that.    I really hope we see a proper video of that.

Soul Surrender sounds interesting I want to see all the lyrics and hear it in full.

I'm really happy that there's a couple of Prima Donnas in the band because I love them :D

Hey, when mods have asked for a conversation to stop that means everyone stops. If both people want to carry it on you do it via PM, or if you have questions to ask the mod you can PM the mod. Not continue things in the thread.

Can everyone take note of this please? Any questions, as I said PM me.

I saw an instastory with a list of the upcoming shows and after Thee Parkside on 4/17 it listed the Ivy Room, Albany on Saturday 4/21. Has this been announced anywhere? Maybe an album release party?

I saw that as well, but there is another band currently on the ivy rooms calander for that night. I wonder if that person assumed what Anna and baby Huey were discussing on his Instagram post was a longshot show, but was actually a different bands show? 🤔

anyways, I haven’t seen an announcement for any other shows besides SF and the southern cal ones.

It might have meant friday 4/20 because it’s more common to mess up the date and the page said “friday 4/21”. Interesting though that Dead Sound are playing the Ivy Room that night.

And whose post are you talking about that Anna and Huey were discussing?

Ah thank you! I didn’t know the source. That’s interesting though. Yeah it is hard to tell if she’s talking about a different band.

Hopefully they will add more gigs as last night looks great.

I assume Mike and Tre weren't sighted attending the gig?

You can tell how much Billie loves Fell For You, I'm glad since is one of my favourites songs off the trilogy.

Don't worry, it's way better- I have good sources confirming that this project is the remastering of the remastered version of Fell For You. They've been spinning the dials in the studio for weeks to make sure it's the best one yet. It's going to be amazing.

yo u might have answered this already but are u saying fell for you remaster is gonna be on the full length?
