Taxi Driver has a Ramones vibe, really cool.

I wish this EP was released as a 7"... I wonder if all 3 of these tracks will be on the full length when it's out. If the full length isn't on vinyl then I'm going to be bummed, a project like this is perfect for vinyl! I wonder what label this is going to be released on, will Reprise release it and actually try to put out singles?

Love is for losers it's a song that you have to listen on HQ, because the first release wasn't that good and in a bad quality you lose a lot of nice details about the track, is growing in my heart.
Taxi driver is a good one, not bad, not excellent, just good.
Chasing a ghost is my fav one: great rythm, great lyrics and such a catchy chorus. 
The sound of all these three songs is so so similar to the Trilogy. In that era, they said BJ wrote more than 60 songs, so I think this Longshot project it's just an excuse to put all that material out, and it's absolutely okay for me.
Now I'm just curious to know when the full record will come out and who the members are, because the instruments sound really similar to the GD vibes.

I immediately tried tracking down a physical release just so I could see the personal list.   

I was did not find it.  lol

I did just find a weird coincidence though!  I clicked on "more music by" and the next artist was Chris J Norwood.    I'm Chris L Norwood, so that was really strange.

Guys, The Longshot channel just popped up on YouTube in UK, wasn't there ten minutes ago.... lots of comments on all the IGs about stuff only available in the US so hopefully it's all on it's way for the rest of us!  Loving the new songs.

The vocal here is more hidden, as compared to trilogy. the vocal is a bit in the backgound and the guitars are dirtier, that's great. The songs are not bad though I don't like Bilie's vocal, his articulation. I don't want to term this, maybe it's a vocal filter or not (the thread is well-worn) but it doesn't sound very good to me

I’ve been trying to figure out where I’ve heard a similar melody on the chasing a ghost verses, and it’s stay the night. I think. I’m preferring taxi driver at this point but I’m sure that’ll change after a few listens.

Does it make sense to split it up now that post people have already wrote about it here? Most of the discussion is about the EP anyway, isn't it?

I hope there will be a physical EP too, I need that for my collection Also bless them for posting it in high quality on YouTube, I didn't want to download it in that crappy quality ripped from the radio

Yes - it helps reduce the size of a single thread, organise things so people can find things more easily when the longshot (hopefully) releases more material, and generally keep the forum more user-friendly.  While there's a fair bit of chat about the EP in here, there isn't much since its release, and it still makes sense to split and organise anyway (even if it was slightly later than ideal).  So that's why we've done it.  It's also normal practice on GDC to have a thread for each release after it is out anyway.  Hope that helps explain!

Apart from Billie, it is rumored that they are Mike, Jason and Bill Schneider. I also heard that Jeff is there, but seeing that there are apparently 4 members...

Actually for the first time ever while listening to LIFL, I mean for the first time ever about a side project, I thought through conclusion the success or not of this album.

The single has a Green Day sound and, and better yet, an old school one with a new vibe. Lyrics and music could easily be a GD song.  While you could say that about the Tubbies and Network and even GP but never did they feel like Green Day. 

This single kind of does, to me. Although with a more classic sound. But at the end of the day, on a regular old song, Billie simply can’t hide from his lyrics and music.

i shouldn’t say that. People will go off the ledge here. I am just giving you guys a window into my  concern of Green Day’s staying power whenever there is a side project but then the music is USUALLY much different. Yes, Fuck Time was a Tubbies first but it was just Billie wanting to play it out. It was written for Green Day. I remember. Barely. Lol.

For the record, I have no exhistential real concerns for GD based on success or not of a side project especially with Billie loving the last tour so much. 

Apparently, after the last tour, Billie is breathing music.

For those wondering, the EP is on Spotify but you have to search The Longshot EP since there doesn’t seem to be an artist page yet. I still bought it on iTunes to support it more (Billie take my money) and also because I think it sounds a little better. It’s all good.

I love when young people say this. Good show. Even supporting the ones that have made it and don’t need money help other groups that are coming up and need support.
