pacejunkie punk Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 I’ll give the lyrics a shot: Chasing a Ghost Beer stains and cigarettes this party’s getting dull I’m looking for a bump and a wall to call my own I’m feeling like a moron bitter and withdrawn standing in the shadows where all the good times gone Chorus: I’ve got the tears oh baby Crying in my soul Hang from a chandelier from a long long time ago Chasing a Ghost Chasing a Ghost Everyone is happy and everyone is gay Feeling the spirits and twisting the night away But when the thrill is gone and I’m staring at my phone Thanks for the company but I’m still standing alone Chorus A long, dull scene Ain’t it a shame Here’s to the painkillers again on Saturday night So if you see her tell her that I said hello I miss the time she spent and now I gotta go She was the last hurrah and always got me stoned Thanks for the sympathy and the punch in the nose Chasing a Ghost 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Maddie86 Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Ok so I'm liking this project way more than I thought I would. at first when I heard LIFL I wasn't too impressed. the music was good and the melodies were great but lyrically it didn't do anything for me. I know some people were saying that his singing is him trying to sound young, but when you refer to someone as "kid" I think that makes you sound old lol. These 2 new songs definitely spiked my interest, this is gunna be a great album to blast while driving with the windows down on a sunny day!
pouty bitch Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Anyone else find it strange that he seems to have stopped accepting so many requests at a time? He's only accepted like 2 people since yesterday. Maybe that's a sign that it's almost time for the big reveal!
deleteduser7593 Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Oh shit! The main riff for ''Chasing a Ghost'' is very similiar to another one wich I can't remember now, Lol I love the pre-chorus of this one too, haha! I HATE THE VOCALS on the verses.... For ''Taxi Driver''... I'm glad he named a song like my favourite movie. I love it! The verses' melody reminds of an old song I wrote back in 2010, maybe X0 I suppose these songs are a mix of his main influences like Replacements, Generation X... let's say he's having fun without worry about sounding like Green Day or writing meaningful or great stuff. You can feel he's trying to ''relax'' here... Thanks for these link you babes! :-) Taxi driverrrrrr, tu du du du!

MAN i want this record in my life NOW.

MAN i want this record in my life NOW. Yeah, I thought that too. Like he’s feeling awkward and bored at a party where he doesn’t drink or do drugs anymore. (And I made a small correction to the bridge above in my original post)
Montclare Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Can I just say that I love how the overall response is positive? Even when criticisms are mixed, it comes from a positive place. I'm so used to being on Muse boards where 90% of first responses are negative. It's really refreshing.
That Dude Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 The vocal delivery and the lyrics in Taxi Driver are a bit different, I like it! These songs give me this feeling that Billie Joe is working toward something. Especially seeing you guys say it sounds like the Trilogy, I can almost see a pattern. I believe Billie Joe has a certain sound in his head and he's working his butt off trying to create something as awesome as what's up there. He's trying to realize his masterpiece because he knows that he can out-do American Idiot if he only tickles the right demon. I love the Trilogy and I can definitely hear it in these tracks, but I don't think it's him trying to sound like the Trilogy. I hear Billies influences, I hear him emulating and paying homage to the greats of past Rock N Roll. Billie wants to play really big, ''rock out in front a mirror' style Rock N Roll and he's doing it. He's doing what he was put on this earth to do. I know that whatever this turns out to be, it's going to be good through and through.

Green Day is the best thing EVER, to me. I'm not talking musically. Or not only, at least. So I'm ok with their repetitive and filtered stuff too, Lol
Todd Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Wow, these songs are killer. Way better than the title track. I like these more than most of RevRad too. They're very poppy, but in a good way. Still Breathing and Youngblood are poppy too, but in a bad way I can't wait for this album to drop!

I don't understand the ''it sounds like trilogy'' thing, to be honest. Apart from a few weird songs, trilogy songs sound like Green Day have always sounded. The problem, to me, is with the vocals and the un-inspired writing. I never had troubles with the cleaner guitars on these LPs, I'll tell you that X0
Exdarken Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 I think some lyrics were not written by Billie joe. Anyway someone has the lyrics of "love is for losers" ?

''Youngblood'' turned into the song I play the most off RevRad, even if maybe I think the best out of it is ''Somewhere Now''... Anyways, my actual rating (lol) is: LOVE IS FOR LOSERS * * CHASING A GHOST * * * TAXI DRIVER * * * 1/2

It isn’t Tre, and given, Joey posted that clip, it’s fairly possible that it’s him, moreover, he did a gig with Billie. With Jason on Bass
Clockwise Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 These songs are fucking ace, guys! And the lyrics are so fucking sad, I love it. Ahh thank god for Billie Joe Armstrong. Bring this the fuck on.
