Am I sadist enjoying watching you guys suffer? This really isn’t too tough guys. 8 minutes ago, Grubby Poop said: You hit the nail on the head. I can hear this in any Molly Ringwald movie. As a matter of fact, wasn't one of the first clues a picture of Molly Ringwald? That was for the Cover Ups But I actually did have Breakfast Club in mind when I wrote the post

But that’s just personal preference and I can understand why some people like it. 27 minutes ago, LaughingClock said: This really isn’t too tough guys. So that gives me the feeling that it’s more than just a Billie solo thing? Cause we already guessed that.

pacejunkie punk Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Yeah not sure what the clues were either that we didn’t already know from The Longshot hints. But anyway, love the song, it’s pure 70’s power pop which he hasn’t really done before we just know it’s the music he loves. The Coverups should have been a huge clue to this direction. This music was my first love too so I’m totally on board with this. As for it not being as quite as high concept as the Network or the Tubbies, that’s okay. Thise bands were born out of some drunken fever dream that’s just not what he’s about right now. But the art aesthetic and sound is definitely a throwback concept. I’m a loser for life 💔💔💔🎸🎸🎸
WorryRock02 Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 probability Kerrang is gonna talk about The Longshot in the next issue ( Wednesday 11 )

Christian's Inferno! Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Listened to the song a couple times... Nothing special but it's solid enough I guess. I'm sure it'll grow on me with a few more listens but I can't see it becoming one of my favourites Glad to see @Eric is back letting us know what he thinks of our opinions
pacejunkie punk Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 The Longshot just started following this art and web designer’s IG: http://www.maryblount.com/

The Grohl Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Okay so I clearly can't keep up like everyone else. Where's this song that everyone's talking about?

BrendanL Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 For those complaining that Billie Joe recycled “Waiting”, that melody wasn’t even his originally, so I feel like that argument isn’t valid. Take a listen to “Do You Wanna Dance” by the Ramones and originally by Bobby Freeman. It’s a common progression. As far as the song, it’s really grown on me after a few listens. The guitars are great, but Billie’s voice is definitely buried in the mix at times and I wish some of the hi hats were louder. Between this and Chasing A Ghost I’m excited for the record!
