Side project confirmed. Billie answered a worried follower saying that Green Day will neve Break up

I honestly wish he wouldn't pander to these people :P. If people are going to freak out about nothing just because the band is doing a bit of teasing let them I say, they'll find out they were fussing for nothing on their own eventually.

Also are people not aware that April Fool's Day exists? It literally said "April Fool" in the middle of a tracklist which was released on April 1st...

The latest clip doesn't sound like Green Day to me. It's very garage-y. I think it does sound like Prima Donna, though.

Green Day can be garage-y, and they've been totally garage-y as a side project designed with playing smaller venues in mind before (Foxboro Hot Tubs).

What a news to wake up! Damn, this "Green Day will never break up" comment melted my heart

Just asking, are you depicting a fine work of Diplomacy, so as to be a part of elites, and just come around when the album drops, and sing, “when i come around”?

.

kidding!

I think that even if all this arrives around April's Fool, it has been lasting for a few weeks now, turning our heads upside down and still does; so at this point fans can certainly be freaked out (even in an amused way) but fandom can also lead to irrational worry; by giving an (obvious) answer to these posts on The Longshot's public Facebook feed, Billie reassures the fans (by his answer and his attention) without revealing anything about this mystery. :P

Could be that they're just vaguely interested, meaning theyre interested but not necessarily obsessing over it.

Dont quite get what you're referring to though, if someone's only active around new music and gigs are they a worse fan than you?

Meh whatever I'm with @Malleus, other than getting over excited with the second forum, I'm vaguely interested

It's easy to forget, I did. My post was a bad attempt at winding up people not active on Sunday

Yeah, totally didn't mean to give off the vibe that it's not cool or lame to be excited about this. Go, be excited! I love you and want you to be happy.

I am just not super excited but hey, maybe a single will change that ;)

The new preview sounds like it could be from Dos

I saw the longshot perform at a casino in Mesquite. Good show. Not Billie.

I agree, I definitely got trilogy vibes from that latest clip

These clips are really loud at full volume. Does anyone else think so?

Why so serious?

Do read the last word. (Kidding!)

That’s a great crossover with the RevRad speculation era

New post,  with loads of juicy comments:

Summing up, The Longshot is officially an Ed Sheeran super secret project.

Well this is unusually loud at full volume. I mainly listen to music at full volume and it's usually fine

Same production as RevRad then

I've never thought RR was too loud.

The quiet / loud dynamics are a pretty common complaint. Somewhere Now, Bang Bang and Outlaws are all examples of this. You turn it up because you can't hear the intro, then the song really kicks into gear and blows out your speakers 😆

As far as I know, Instagram’s audio compression is shit. I would not judge anything related to volumes and production based on these clips.

Yup, made some good songs unlistenable

I really don't think the "loud" parts of RevRad are too loud and I don't think the "quiet" parts of RR are too quiet either. I know this is an argument that has been made numerous times but it's not something I agree with. At full volume I can still hear the quiet parts fine and when the loud part happens, it doesn't deafen me or anything. I can see it being unexpected on your first listen but it's fine to me.
