I find that particular example of hobo Billie adorable since he was having a wonderful time getting to play guitar with one of his favourite bands with the hobo look acting as kind of a disguise. No amount of scruffiness can hide his cute smile  

But scruffy and wild in a sexy way? That's what he's nailing currently.

I agree. I can live with the stubble, but beyond that does not work. I don't like facial hair to begin with, and on Billie it is especially bad because it just doesn't match with his baby face.

Come to think of it, none of the members of Green Day can pull off facial hair. (Actually, wait, Mike's handlebar mustache way back when wasn't so bad. Ewww 🤮, I'm washing my mouth out with soap). 

Not gonna lie, there are some times when they didn't look disgusting with facial hair, but that doesn't mean it was good. Then there's Frank Storm: the only exception to the rule.

Stubble's only acceptable on Billie. And if it crosses the very thin line between "honey, get the razor, I've got a job to do", and "oh, that's not bad", then we're burning it in hell.

They’ve all done stubble successfully for me, but I get the preference for clean shaven.

Exactly. There is a definite creepiness. The mustache combined with the outfit and the greasiness makes him look like he should be tying a woman to the railroad tracks in a silent film.
