He is a precious puppy who must be protected 

But is all seriousness, having random strangers come up to me and invade my personal space would make me uncomfortable too. Especially while I was trying to do my job. Seeing some of these women "having" to touch him while his singing/playing before they dive back in to the crowd makes me uncomfortable.

For me, it depends on the type/level of touching. Like the other night, there was a girl who basically choked him. Not cool. Or people who basically expect him to stop playing to take a picture with them. That's annoying for both the band and audience.  But the quick shoulder hug people I have no problem with.

So I was at that show... Didn't speak of it before because I tended to freak out too much already like that, with some expectations that got disappointed like meeting him which didn't happen, and i didn't know where I would end, but finally it was great, for waiting early enough I ended up front row right before Billie. 

About the bellie I wanted to say that by stretching my arm not even fully I could've touched it, but I didn't. I think Billie is a person like another and deserves to be respected in his integrity, being crazy about him can't excuse everything. I already hate that someone would touch even my hair without asking. When Billie crowdsurfes and opportunistic people touch his hair, (like I did myself last year!), it's one thing because he just throws himself in the crowd, but touching his bellie while he's playing, I don't think it would've been very respectful!

Before the encore, when they were about to get back up on stage, they crossed a few fans on the sides and one girl brushed his arms in passing. When getting back up on stage Billie then had a quick wiping gesture on his arms with his hands. Proof that he didn't really like to be touched like that

It was so porn indeed. He lay down just because he wanted to and once the fan (a girl two places on my left) had positioned the mic, he grabbed it so she would hold it a little closer to his mouth. She kept her hand perfectly still after that, but gosh it was just brushing his lips all the time! It was way too hot

He is a person just like you and I. Crowdsurfing is it's own thing. He chooses to do that and knows people will be touching him in... places... But just randomly touching (choke hold, petting, bellie rubs) him when you've made it on stage, without asking, isn't respectful.

Sorry, that's just my humble opinion on personal space & human decency.

Basically, Kevin picked up a pair of underwear thrown on stage and put it on Billie's mic. He looked completely disgusted by it and didn't even touch them. The rest is in the "different angle" post on pg 199.

Billie has boundaries just like the rest of us. Under certain circumstances, it may be perfectly appropriate to put your hands on him. If he’s crowd surfing, it’s practically inevitable. However, fondling him while he’s performing is just uncalled for. I’m sorry if I gave anyone the impression that I was condoning that kind of behavior. I did find it kind of amusing that someone took being within feet of him as an opportunity to touch his bellie, but I agree that it was inappropriate. If I’d found myself in that situation, I might’ve been tempted to rub his bellie too, but I wouldn’t invade his personal space like that and go out of my way to make him uncomfortable. He deserves to be treated with respect just like anybody else.

I wasn’t calling you out nor did I take what you said in the post as appropriate behavior. I was talking about the people at the small shows (includes last years tour as well) who completely forget about respecting his personal space when on stage and realizing he is a human with boundaries that need to be considered.

I was once in a situation (AI musical, I've mentioned it before) where Billie was so close to me that I could have reached out and made physical contact, but I didn't. I think if the opportunity arises again, I will always be too nervous to touch him anywhere unless he explicitly gives consent.

Yeah it depends on the situation. If he's crowdsurfing or leaning into the crowd inviting it you can go for it but just randomly touching him when up on stage (unless it's a welcomed hug or shoulder tap or whatever) is definitely awkward. It's just common sense.

 I completely agree with all being said above, however, my fear is that if I ever came face to face with him that I just might throw myself at him and all rational thought would just fly!  I mean, at most I would probably hug him, I thought the random tummy rubbing too much but I honestly don’t know how I would react.

I think we're lucky in the way that even if Billie isn't disposed to greet all the fans' hugs with the same warmness, depending on the context, he's rather trying to set his own limits than pushing anyone away. Still, sometimes you never know what you'll get as a reaction from him. Sometimes fans crowdsurf and hug him and he just takes it without dismissing them, sometimes he shows he doesn't want to. I'll always remember that fan in Santa Ana, last year, who got on stage with may other fans during Chasing a ghost, I think, and she was one of the last to get off stage and wanted to hug Billie. But he just went back to his mic and ignored her, even though he saw her. He probably had just had too many people around him and needed a break. But I saw her expression and felt really sorry for her. I think she just wanted a hug the same way she had seen other fans get it before her

Being picked out of the crowd to come on stage to sing or play with gd is different than crowd surfing your way to the stage just for the “touch” factor. 

Crowd surf all you want but don’t strangle him while his literally playing the music other attendees are trying enjoying.

Also depends on how many people at once are trying to get his attention and how they behave. This is from a show last year and it an extreme example, but in general, the fact that he's okay with giving hugs to a couple fans a show doesn't mean everyone is entitled to getting one or that it's more acceptable to get touchy feely at him than it is at any other person you'd meet in the same context.
