Well her and a lot of others. She certainly contributed to its decline in her hey day. Also with this show there has to be interaction between the guests, and Billie might not feel like they're a good fit. But you're right, it might just gr a scheduling thing.

Probably is just some boring scheduling thing.

I actually liked the BEP when they were around Schedule issue sounds most likely tbh.
lizziebix Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Think Fergie may end up talking about her marriage breaking up too so the main focus would be on her for most of the show. Why would anyone want to be on with that kind lack of attention? They don't go on these shows to be ignored. Still sad. He seemed to enjoy interacting with Andy Cohen.
UNICORN VOMIT Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Instead of Fergie they should have had Josh Duhamel & BJ - two from my laminated hall pass
tdlyon Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 There is a 0% chance that he cancelled because Fergie was there

pacejunkie punk Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 I wonder if Rocky’s passing was the reason why he cancelled. It may have happened Thursday and he wanted to get home as soon as he could. Rumors started flying soon after that right?

I don't remember what came first, if the rumors or the cancellation, but it doesn't really matter because we don't know when exactly it happened. I doubt we'll ever know but it makes sense. I'd rather be at home than doing a silly show in a situation like this.
The Grohl Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Maybe he canceled because he's tired? He sounded pretty tired on Fallon and then he did the Global Citizen Show too? Maybe he just needed some rest and time to deal with Rocky's passing.
RougeRogue Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Well obviously the whole band is there, they're playing a show. Was their presence supposed to be surprising? I don't get it... Anyway, good, now get that boy a pillow and give him a nap.

Yeah I was at all three things this week (Moore, Fallon, GC) and he just seemed drained even though he looked like he had fun at Moore's show and GC (he looked miserable at Fallon). Add in the loss of a pet and that'll drain a person even more. Not to mention the long ass tour they just finished. I give him a lot of credit for that Global Citizens performance. I really think he used up every last bit of energy and voice he had left to make it the best it could be.
jengd Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Probably a combination of things, I've watched the Fallon performance a few times now and think it's pretty good but it does feel like it's not totally 100% in some way I can't define, Billie looks and sounds good, I don't think he looks particularly tired, he is blinking quite a lot. Could easily believe that the Wrigley Field night did feel like a nice tidy end to the US tour, then they had to fire up again for Global Citizen so it was easy to fit in a couple of other appearances, but they may have known Ricky's days were numbered and Billie may have hoped to get home in time to see him , that and /or just feeling like enough was enough and this programme is a bit nuts anyway. They must be getting desperate for a break, they have basically been on the road for a year. Hope they all get a good rest and are all fired up and ready to go again for South America, sure they will be.

And it's possible Rocky died before Fallon and Billie just didn't announce it publicly until yesterday. That could be why he was slightly "off" there.

I don't know if they stopped home at all or took the dogs with them but they flew over to NYC right from LA, and Joey's been on tour, Jakob's been at college. It's possible that none of them had seen the dog in a few weeks at least. That's gotta make it extra hard. This program is also pretty up beat and high energy, which can be hard to fake if you're not feeling it.

Agreed, I watched GC one more time today and although they did an amazing job you can tell he's tired and slightly off energy-wise compared to all the tour shows - which makes it all the more impressive how they absolutely owned it. 7 hours ago, Montclare said: And it's possible Rocky died before Fallon and Billie just didn't announce it publicly until yesterday. I only got around to watching the Fallon performance yesterday, literally just before he posted about Rocky and we considered that to be a rumour, and thought for sure that his eyes looked teary. Makes a lot of sense if it happened while they were in NY

But he did do a good job hiding it from anyone who doesn't pay the level of attention we do.
jengd Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I believe it was a really hot day for the time of year in New York, he was working pretty hard! Love it when they blow all others out if the water.

pacejunkie punk Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 I had a weird coincidence last night. I was watching the season finale of Difficult People on Hulu (about an hour before this tv appearance was supposed to air but instead it’s Fergie alone) and the character on the show writes her memoir and ends up as a guest on WWHL. It’s the set and Andy Cohen is there and she’s the only guest. And they even point it out and make a joke about someone cancelling and her ending up as the only guest! Weird.

Actually, it was quite nice by the time they came out since the sun had gone down. Not even close to a heat wave day and I'm sure they've played in plenty of those. It just struck me because even with all the videos I've watched and handful of shows I've been to, it stood out. And as people have mentioned, he seemed a bit worn out. He really covered it well though. As you said, they did blow the rest out of the water and no one who's not a die hard fan would've suspected they were feeling any less than 110%!
LaughingClock Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 This shit is below Billie. Revolution Road. He should have got up and walked out right then or better off the second he saw the other people on the bill. I couldn't even get passed the Howard Stern answer because Billie looked so like "why am I here"? Now the Stern interview was fucking great. Jesus.
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 ^I remember listening to the Howard Stern interview at school. It was already freezing in there. Can't believe it was almost a year ago
