I love this song and watching this reminded me that I miss it live, even if I am mostly alone in that :P He looks and sounds understandably tired but I liked the performance and found it emotional regardless.

Gotta love it when they post actual the HQ performances online

I don't disagree having just watched it. Almost sounded like he had a cold or something. He wasn't off key or anything, just very "vanilla".

At the iHeart show however many months ago, this song stole the show (granted it was a small weak industry crowd) but when he played it, it was wholly different than that perfofmance of it.

Put it this way, the performance at the Burbank Studios drew tears from people. This one, while beautiful, not so much.

Yeah I was one of those who totally cried with that Burbank performance of ordinary world. It was amazing.

Nice and all, but it's just such a boring song. No one is going to look up Green Day after hearing this.

It's a boring song if you don't like acoustic performances, but a lot of people eat those up. Do I need to bring up Ed Sheeran again? Currently the best-selling artist in the world?

I did not want him to perform OW because I wanted something different and an interview, but I don't know how anyone can knock his performance. His voice was pitch-perfect, much better than on Conan. I have a real sensitivity to off-key singing, ala Taylor Swift live, or often Billie while singing SB only. This was so on-pitch, his tone was clear, and he even had some vibrato in there. Any vocalist would be impressed.

I liked the Colbert performance rthe best.  He looked happiest there.  The Conan one he seemed kind of sad, here he was mellow.  Sounded great in all three (although I do agree, a bit tired here).

Can I just say how much I roll my eyes when reading Youtube comments when people clearly don't know what they're talking about?  One guy said Billie hasn't worn guyliner in 10 years.   At least the comments were positive (mostly).

Okay credit where it was due...that was the best performance of that song I’ve seen. I think he improved upon it. The vocal sounded deeper and fuller and he dropped the ooh oohs in the instrumental. 100% better. That was great.

The ooh oohs are my favourite part :(

I guess he didn't do them because he sang the whole song in a lower pitch than usual and to go that high might have been jarring.

I relate so hard to Billie just standing awkwardly while Jimmy closed out the show.

I watched it on Youtube. It was good, but not awesome. Billie normally gives a better performance of this song. I don't know, he sounded a bit off.

Am I the only one who thought Billie blinked his eyes a lot during his performance? Like way more than normal?

I think they guy just needs to sleep & recharge - he is not a robot.

About as exciting as the clip from the Conan show. This song was old news the minute it was released and I'm so glad the band stopped playing it live.

I made friends with someone in the audience who loved it and I was like "cool go buy the record. Except, none of the other songs sound like that." haha.

It’s true everytime they release a ballad. People who discovered Green Day after Good Riddance bought Nimrod and went what the hell????
