That's funny because I've heard him describe himself as an extrovert and that he can't relate to being an introvert. Where did he ever say he was an introvert? And that's different from social anxiety anyway. He may be dorky and awkward though, and that's pretty awesome. 🙂

I agree with you, I don't really think Billie is introvert at all, from most of the past interview that he and band did and he has been interview solo before? When he promoting press tour for his film.Ordinary World, and etc..yeah maybe he feeling awkward or nervous..but it is understandable. I think Billie is doing this solo maybe Jimmy request him, he knows Billie has more insightful/maybe little bit more charmed, then other guys.

How do you get tickets?

How do you get tickets?

By requesting tickets on tonight shows website

however there are no tickets for any of the September shows for September tickets they opened them back in August

however if you're in NY they may will have some stand by tickets available here’s the info

“ if you’re not able to request tickets in advance, standby tickets are available same-day for each show. Standby tickets do not guarantee admission, but when we have extra tickets or cancellations those seats are distributed to the people in the standby line. For standby tickets, please arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the taping. The line forms on 49th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues), beginning at the Tonight Show sign and heading towards the NBC Marquee. Standby tickets are numbered and given out, in order, to guests in line at 9 a.m. After receiving your numbered ticket, you will be able to leave the line and instructed to return at a specific time later that afternoon to check-in again and see if we are able to ticket you for that evening’s taping.

Once an individual has joined the standby line on 49th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues, beginning at the Tonight Show sign), they CANNOT leave and return to their original place in line. You may not arrive early and "hold spots" for additional people to join you in line later, nor can you replace someone holding a spot in line for you. One standby ticket is granted per person. Standby line tickets will be distributed at 9a.m., but the standby line typically begins forming a few hours earlier. There is no standard time that standby line starts, and there is no guaranteed number of individuals that we are able to admit from standby on any given day.

Any standby tickets not handed out at 9:00 a.m. will be available at the NBC Greeter’s Stand by the Grand Staircase at 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

Everyone in line must present a valid photo I.D. containing date of birth. No one under the age of 16 will be admitted into the show, regardless if a parent or guardian is present.

NOTE: Before you go, please call our Ticket Office to confirm that we are taping on the day you wish to attend. The Ticket Office is open 9 a.m. - 5 p. m. ET, Monday through Friday at: (212) 664-3056.”

I agree, the way Billie replies during interviews shows that he's extrovert. Only, being aware of his own awkwardness (or what himself perceives as such), even when - or rather especially when - he's an extrovert, must not have always been easy for him to handle, eventually generating social anxiety, and perhaps leading him to some reserve and shyness in random "social situations", as opposed to intimate situations, interviews and ultimately concerts, of course, where he just lets it go, with the results we know :ga: ; he finally seems to have incorporated the fact that his dorkiness is nothing but awesome indeed!

Before Green Day hits the stage at Central Park on Saturday for The Global Citizen Festival (which will be broadcast on MSNBC live starting at 2PM EST), Billie Joe will be taking a little detour to perform on Jimmy Fallon. Is it perhaps a performance of Ordinary World like on Conan, or another song acoustic?

Hopefully he's there to knock jimmy fallon out

So a new ad for the Fallon show says Billie is the musical guest, so I guess acoustic OW?

I'd prefer acoustic "still breathing" or anything that isn't "ordinary world"

Why would he still be doing ordinary world?

ETA: Checked my DVR and it says "Billie Joe Armstrong performs" Just FYI

Demi Lovato performed last night or is tonight, I can't remember, and the Tonight Show tweeted Jimmy would also be chatting with her. So there's still hope. I can't imagine what's really appropriate for Billie to perform other than OW. Could that be the next single?

Acoustic SB could actually be beautiful

I agree, but is his voice up to it? This last leg of the tour he has really struggled and having the band and the audience singing with him helped to cover some notes he couldn't hit. It would be powerful if he could do it, though.

Exactly. I doubt he'd ever do SB acoustic on tv because that song is difficult to sing and he doesn't always nail every note - that's obvious even with a full band playing.

Acoustic on his own he could approach it differently, with a full band he's really screaming it out to be heard above the band. Just him and a guitar, his voice might actually be a bit more relaxed.

Exactly what I was going to say. Acoustic SB could possibly be a train wreck. I've never heard him struggle with any song like he does that one. At my show he was perfectly in tune with every song but SB, and it just didn't sound good at all. It's such a stark difference.

That's a good point though. Maybe he could handle it better st an acoustic level.

That's also true. He seems to have the biggest problem with the loud high notes, so singing it in a softer voice might be easier for him

I wonder what makes that song so hard? Anyway, he was doing OW a year ago to coincide with the movie and has since dropped it in concert so it seems like a big step backwards to suddenly start playing it again now. I wonder if he's going to do a classic to promote the Global Citizen show like WMUWSE or Good Riddance. Or, in my wildest dreams, he's written a new song and premieres it live acoustic. 😋

Ugh, don't want to whine but if it's just Ordinary World I'll be seriously disappointed.

Me too, that's why I'm thinking of every possible reason against it in the hope it is unlikely.

That's most likely though (and still less disappointing than some old song) :P

I'm worried you're right but honestly I'd happily take Good Riddance instead
