WBC to picket Green Day Show

Unfortunately if you're from Kansas this is just something you get pretty used to. They picketed Van Halen in 2012, they picketed my college graduation and they picketed my high school's graduation last year.

The funniest (craziest) thing I've heard about these people was when they picketed outside a store (in America) that were selling Swedish vacume cleaners. The reason for this was that a lunatic religious Swedish man was charged for preaching hate towards homosexuals in a Swedish church. I'm sure there are a million other crazy things they've done though.

The thing is that WBC get what they want by being given attention and they don't care if it's negative. When bands do stuff like that all it's doing is helping promote them, as well as helping promote the band. Any band or performer etc who genuinely wants them to become less successful (so that maybe they can't do as many actually damaging things like picketing funerals) should really sacrifice promoting themselves by doing some funny gimmick and just not give them attention instead. It's like when people post their website to say look how funny it is.....all you're doing is giving them ad revenue by getting people visiting it. They need ignoring.

I'd tend to disagree, depending on what you think they want.  If they want to convert people to their way of thinking, the publicity that things like this gives them is about as useful as advertising hair gel to bald men.  If they want to be well known and hated, then fair enough, this gives them what they want.  And as far as financing goes, in the 21st century people should be aware that ad impressions generate revenue for YouTube accounts and site owners - I'd discourage anyone from looking at their YouTube, website etc as that is something that will actually directly benefit them.  So I think what Creeper did was fine, but agree that it's a Road you have to tread carefully on.
