And is it just me who thinks that the art single for the songs is absolutely awful???? :(

The only difference is a BIT more heavier guitars and the vocals are changed a bit. But what's the point of the song? wHAT'S THE POINT OF THIS RELEASE

Maybe they've got something up their sleeve or maybe it's just for funsies. I'm not going to complain about more stuff from them.

I can see why, the songs are too good to be so unpopular to the majority of people:lol::lol:

I totally agree!
Trilogy songs live have driven audiences mad during the past tour. In 2017 we are probably many to miss these songs, which Billie said they were the best he had written at that time. The fact that they quite haven't been played since does not mean the band thought the trilogy was bad, Billie said it as well earlier during the current tour (besides, pretty much the same happened to 21st Century Breakdown : no song survived the dedicated tour as a "classic" except for Know Your Enemy ; well, hell of an album and hell of a tour as well). I assume that a remix now of Fell For You is not a way to say to some presumed majority of fans : "sorry, initial mix sucked, we're gonna make it all over again!", rather a way to address a thought to all lovers of their non-or-very-little-played-live songs, and to say all the good the band thinks of the trilogy, that it deserves such refining.

I think it's great??? The guitars sound so much better than they do in the original. Not sure about Billie's echo-y vocals but still, I really really like it. Does there have to be a point?? Remixes happen all the time.

My favourite bit is the two guitar riffs harmonising with each other. Beautiful.

Yeah I really do think this was somethig he was just fooling around with and wanted to share. No need to overthink it or attach too much importance.

Am I the only one that was disappointed with Demolicious because it included only one unreleased song and the "demos" with full orchestration sounded almost exactly like the recorded versions? I didn't see the point of that release either.

Musically, Demolicious isn't very different, I agree. However, to me it's a quite different atmosphere from the trilogy. It's darker and more nervous, Billie's voice is different, all this varying dependently of the songs. I would say the melody is the same but the sound is not. Listening to any of the trilogy or to Demolicious doesn't require or bring the same mood in to me.

I think (it's my personal feeling) it might have been difficult to sing and play live several of these songs recorded that way - like Lazy Bones that hasn't been played for that reason pretty obviously, and State of Shock that hasn't been released. Well, I'm crazy of these two songs, though I totally see the point of the trilogy the way it is, many songs with the same hard lyrics but not too dark melodies, more like sunny rainy if you see what I mean. (There, I said it :P )

Do you mean sunny rainy or more like rainy sunny? 😊

It sounds like they rerecorded some of the instrumentation and used the same vocal tracks.that may be why remix is in qoutes and it's called the Otis mix because what's it matter where it's mixed if it's in a computer

I didn't really have any issues with the trilogy in the first place (I actually quite liked it), but this definitely sounds better, and I think it's great! It just sounds more.. complete.

Anyway, whatever the reason for them releasing it, it's exciting

I have no idea when this was actually remixed, but what if billie was just fucking bored at home and he just went to otis and messed around before he discovered instagram live... XD

I wonder if this is from 4 years ago when Billie posted on Instagram about rerecording louder guitars?

ahhhh, now i see why he put "remix" in quotation marks. it's a re-mix.

But why would he call it an Otis remix if it was done 4 years ago before Otis was built?  And we knew he was back in Otis last week.

I'm just saying I understand why it's a "remix" now, not why it's an Otis Remix :D Maybe it's to confuse people who don't know what Otis is into looking it up. He's proud of his baby. Maybe the "point" of the remix is promoting Otis.

I think I prefer this mix.  Looking forward to listening to the two side-by-side a bit more so I can make a full judgement, but I definitely like it.

I haven't heard it yet, I will hear it tomorrow. But Fell For You is by far my favorite song off the Trilogy. I'm glad he chose it and can't wait to hear it.

I like the low guitar riff thingy they added

Yeah, I wanted to remind myself of how Billie says it in "Ordinary World" movie, I think it's like I said - sunny rainy - but I'm not sure

And if I follow the commentary Billies has made on the trilogy when it was on the release, Uno is being ready for the party, Dos is the crazy party and Tre is after, like "Oh, shit". So to be logical it would be sunny rainy, yeah :P

Little off topic but as we're on this :

Spoiler

I feel that the "sunny" part or what I describe as such in the trilogy is also the energetic, angry part, the part where you end up rushing without thinking, and in the moment you can acknowledge the pain but you don't stop. This culminates in Dos. And in Tre is the part where you start to slow down, reflect, think of the past, try to take the pain and get on with emotions instead of getting over them in order to unceasingly keep moving. This would be the "rainy" part which comes after in a logical way, because the desire to live first pushes you to want a party and to get ready for it (Uno) and then to throw your entire weight in it (Dos), so that you realize how much you had the need of it. Only after, the excitement and euphoria fall back. It's the hard moment, the rain, but it's necessary to take a break and get somehow lost with your emotions. The sunny moment restarts a moment after and it's always in a enlightened / renewed way. Not necessarily being a crazy party!

My life is like that, now I can see it very clearly, perhaps even more than before. I've been always told it's a weird and wrong way to behave. Without people using these exact words - sunny rainy - the first time I saw Ordinary World it went directly to heart. And if I'm convinced of one thing now it's that I like being this way, because it's the way I am, everything good and bad in me comes along with that.

So from what I can tell by placing both songs on top of each other, they are the same vocal tracks. The new version is slightly louder than the original but the definitely did re-record the instruments.

They both sound similar but the instrument work on the new version is better imo.

A BIT heavier guitars and seemed a bit more up tempo but not anything special IMO. I just think that it isn't that a good song..

Clearly you are in the minority, no matter how many posts you make saying the same thing 😏
