There were thousands of suggestions which he ignored. He already likes them. His kids are friends with them. They've covered GD for that Kerrang album and Mike posted on IG about them ages ago.

OMG. When he got elected, Twitter forced me to follow him even though I didn't want to! I was like, "WTF?! Get that outta here!"   I ended up blocking his page cause Twitter is just for the things I like. I wonder if whoever runs the Green Day account knows about that?? I'm sure someone had to have brought it up to them.

Haha. Excellent reference point. We should all glean as much knowledge about Billie as possible from that one minute. I'm sure it's an accurate representation of his opinion on everything.

And maybe he wouldn't have followed Stephen Colbert if I hadn't suggested it but he definitely wouldn't have followed either if he didn't like them in the first place.

I love Dave Grohl and I like the Foo Fighters, but I totally agree that they're overrated. And yeah, it's so weird that whenever Grohl does anything the media reports it like it's something huge.

The media does the same thing with Taylor Swift. "Taylor Swift brought an ear of corn at the store today! The internet is losing their shit over it!!" When in actuality, no one gives a crap.

Gosh I know right? It's bad enough I cannot stand her, but then it's like hey Taylor did this!!! And it's like okay? That's...nice? Why is this "news?" I equate to those stories where the media takes one quote from an interview and blow it up. Like if a band says oh we might be returning to the studio at the end of the year. Suddenly the headline is BAND IS WORKING ON NEXT ALBUM! And it's like...chill out.

I dunno...that's probably part of it. I meant the Foos and Dave are good. I think it's because they have such a huge fan base, so anyone reporting on them know it's probably going to get a ton of views. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was the Nirvana connection.

To the casual music fan though, they're going to read Foo Fighters articles simply because they are "the Teen Spirit guys".

True. I find the media desperately wants any excuse to talk about Nirvana, so it makes sense that they would pump out FF stories. It's like guys...Nirvana is done. Let's move on.

Well, that's me back to feeling like I live in an alternative universe, thank god for this forum and you guys or I would think I had imagined Green Day and rock music!  Really struggle to hear any rock on any UK stations these days, some in the midfield to late evenings but only uf you are lucky lol!  

I totally agree with lots of you, I like the Foos but the one time I saw them live they were ok but not outstanding and why do some of these folk get such attention?  Beats me for sure.
