I'm glad we are on the same wavelength here with the mid-40's rock bands getting any attention compared to the younger bands, although I do like the Foo Fighters.  I do agree with you on all things with Dave.  He easily gets excessive coverage.

It makes me sad really.   Every year when the VMA's (or any award show really) gets announced, I keep hoping and praying Green Day gets honored in some sort of way but, it never happens. I don't understand why?? Why are we force fed rap music that is barely audible? Why are we overhyping a music video about a pretentious twenty something year old acting like a teenager? If you take all that away, you'd have time for at least 5-6 numbers from Green Day.

Preach!! A lot of the artists I really like aren't too hyped up in the industry. Minus Ariana Grande of course.  I can't help it! She's a guilty pleasure of mine! lmfao!  Pentatonix has 3 Grammy's and that's enough to validate them.

Damn it! Twenty One Pilots are good - but they are NOT ROCK. Neither is Fall Out Boy. Green Day deserved this one.

I agree that Green Day deserved to win; no contest. It just shows that whoever is nominating the artists is running out of musicians for the rock category so they have to choose people that are either in a sub genre of rock or who "look rock" and call that rock music. You know what I'm confused about? There was an award show about 3 years ago (I think?) that had LORDE in a Rock category for "Royals"?? I was like.... ermmm.... she is the FARTHEST thing from Rock. Might as well put Dolly Parton in the Rock category at this rate!!

Exactly! It's infuriating, and embarrassing to the rock community that they're like. "Hmmm, the rock category is awfully bare this year. Here, let's slap some Justin Bieber in there to fix it right up." And then everyone votes for the filler artist instead of the actual artist who specializes in the genre.  Agh it's annoying lol

I was so confused when I saw that! Like, really? The girl didn't even sing ONE NOTE when she performed tonight. I understand if she's sick but, she could have just not shown up if that was the case. That was a waste of time to see her up there just dancing IMO. I really yearned for Green Day tonight more than anything. :'(

So fucking annoying.  Don't even get me started on Bieber. I can't stand him. My mother of all people think he's maturing and cleaning up his act. Honestly, I felt they were somewhat passable up until Infinity On High. "This Ain't A Scene..." was their last good single before moving to the straight-up pop crap (and yes, I feel they have been far removed from any kind of rock or rock-influenced sound for that long; don't let their pompously-titled Save Rock And Roll album fool you).

Of course it doesn't have to be rock to be good, but if a song is nominated in a best rock category, it should be rock. I think that's what people are saying.

I do agree with his then sentiments about Coldplay though.  I guess he grew to like their music....orrrr maybe he just hate follows them?? I actually like Coldplay. I saw them last summer and it was a blast, but largely helped by their amazing special effects. Everyone stood the whole time though and the band sounded great. They do this cool thing where they set up a tiny stage in a back section of the arena in the middle of the seats and play a short acoustic set from there. Real treat for the folks in the cheap seats and made a big show feel intimate. Chris Martin is a talented guy.

Yesterday he decided to follow a bunch of new people at once, no couch lounging involved, and among the obvious choices like The Ramones (which actually came later) he started following Rihanna, Coldplay, Bruno Mars and 5SOS. I don't think it's hate following though I seriously hope the Green Day account following Donald Trump IS a hate follow!!
