GodzillaREMIX Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Buying my "Eat Your Parents" shirt at Spencer's Gifts. Hold on, my pager just went off...
Jaymee!! Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Sitting in my living room, listening to the CD my dad ran out to get on its release day on the speakers. Mom walks into the room "don't you sing these lyrics out loud" Me, a rebellious 11 year old: "a free for all, FUCK. THEM. ALL." (when she had left the room of course because I didn't want my ass kicked)

pacejunkie punk Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 I've written tons of fanfic for TV characters but RPF is a line I will not cross. Ew. (Sorry if that's your thing, it just creeps me out on their behalf.)

My best friend sending me webcam clips of her listening to WMUWSE via MSN Messenger Aah misleadingly named mp3s making the rounds, those were the days! I have a vague memory of associating Minority with the semi-cool kids (ironically) in secondary school when it must've been relatively new. Fast forward 6-8 years to sharing newly discovered Burnout via yousendit on my livejournal account. I wrote "oh to have been ten years older" and my bff replied "but then you'd be thirty now! ". The horror lol.

sherribomb Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 My innocence was ruined when Tre Cool said he could suck his own.
St. Jonny Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 I bought my copy of Nimrod myself the week it came out with my own money when I was 9.
jengd Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Coming into the living room where my 12 year old son had turned up the volume on MTV for American Idiot, opening my mouth to say something horribly parenty like, wow, thats loud and then stopping to look and listen and going ah "ah, Green Day" and sitting down to watch. Hooked all over again.
jj0407 Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 My 13 yo self turning to my best friend and saying holy shit this song's great and the guy singing is gorgeous. My friend did not agree and called me a weirdo

dori711 Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Seeing the clip of Boulevard of Broken Dreams (and later American Idiot) on MTV charts in early 2005--also recorded them on VHS. (I didn't really understand the language at tha time so I decided to study it; also started to gather more info on them like, songs, lyrics, photos, posters, started buying their older albums, too.) Good ol' times.
DeJennsitized Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Oh I got one! Hearing a really odd selection of Green Day songs from Yahoo's online radio before I knew the entire discography. Like deep cuts from Warning and Shenanigans. I specifically remember hearing Hold On for the first time on that weird little Yahoo thing.
