Last year was pretty hard for me and my family and there were times where I wondered if we were going make it through these tough times. But somehow, we survived and that's what Still Breathing is all about. Also, Coming Clean. I felt I was repressed in the sexuality area for most of high school and it wasn't until later when I was struggling to find out who I was that I figured it out and this song helped me out a lot. that is great for you..about the song coming clean help you well "coming clean" I like meaning of song Nice Guys finish last..Nice guys do finish last.
Ceitko Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 'Better thank your lucky stars' from Waiting has always had such an important meaning to me because I used to listen to that song when I was younger and really struggling with my OCD and that line would make me remember that no matter how hard this is, to be thankful it is my biggest problem and that I'm not in a position much worse. I used to put that song on and lay on my bed perfectly still when I was going totally nuts to try and bring myself 'off the edge'. The same goes for Babs Uvula Who? That song is like a written out account of what it's like to feel like you've completely lost it. I also have a strong connection to Coming Clean although not in the way it was intended - for me it was coming clean about my anxiety issues and my parents not understanding. Green Day really helped me through some tough shit in my early teens! I have 'better thank your lucky stars' tattooed on my arm and am getting the Coming Clean skeleton later this year - I've always wanted both!
pacejunkie punk Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 Just listening to 21 Guns and that is personally meaningful. When you've had lifelong conflict with somebody sometimes you have to know when it's time to surrender and walk away.
kelliblue Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Boulevard of Broken Dreams has always been like a personal anthem. It sounds kinda pathetic, I know. That song is what really got me hooked on this band. "I walk this empty street on the boulevard of broken dreams. Where the city sleeps and I'm the only one and I walk alone." I'm pretty sure Simple Plan borrowed Green Day's riff from BOBD when they recorded Your Love is a Lie. The chord progressions are the same.
jj0407 Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Since I heard still Breathing the line I'm like a mother barely keeping it together really gets to me as after I had my first son I suffered from post-natal depression and it was a really rough time that almost cost me my marriage. Luckily it didn't but it was a hard time in my life so this song really touches me.
