I guess they could just be made up names in songs that are about Amanda or other real women or fictional women. Wouldn't be the first time he's written about characters with made up names that are at least partly inspired by real people (eg Whatsername or Gloria), or just made up a random name for as song (eg Maria). I had a thought that Ashley might be about Amanda but he'd already used that name for another song so he had to pick a different one , don't think we have any real info on who it's about though. Of course any number of these songs might not be totally about anyone, could just be partly inspired by one or more person or fictional. Not necessarily as simple as this song's about this woman and that song's about that woman.

Christian's Inferno! Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Considering the amount of love songs and songs about girls in the trilogy, I find it hard to believe that all of them are about a particular person. I mean, look at all the songs about girls or love songs Sweet 16 Fell for You Stay the Night Wild One Ashley Lady Cobra Amy Brutal Love Amanda Missing You At least a few have to be just songs he wrote that were about nobody
pacejunkie punk Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Sweet 16 is definitely Adrienne and Amy is for Amy Winehouse. Not sure which of the others are confirmed as to who they're about.

I think we just find ourselves ascribing a lot of meaning to Billie's songs because so many of them do have intent. Hard to know if a song is suddenly made up from nothing.
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Fell For You is said to be about booze.

Hero_Of_The_Hour Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 It is of course possible that Ashley and Gabriella are just women we don't know of. Billie once mentioned Nina as someone he wrote a song about. I'm sure he's dated lots of women. He's not obliged to publish a detailed list of past interactions in accompaniment with song lyrics

Lol I hadn't heard that theory, I know people like to make everything about Billie's drinking but I'm not buying it . Sounds like a sweet love song about being away on the road to me, 2000 Light Years Away part 2!
Hero_Of_The_Hour Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Fell for you is about literally falling for someone. The fact that he's in a pool of sweat to the point that he first thought he "pissed the bed" gives the idea he's fallen in love with someone and it's making him nervous. Its another on the trilogy about temptation and lust. Amusingly you may recall it was originally titled Fell For Snoo.

Yeah possibly, but the way it talks about being away from the person ("you're out of sight but not out of mind", "I'll spend the night living in denial" etc) gives me a being far away from them/pining for them/lusting for them 2000 Light Years Away type of vibe (a lot of the lyrics are very reminiscent of "I sit alone in my bedroom staring at the walls, I've been up all damn night long, my pulse is speeding, my love is yearning, I hold my breath and close my eyes and think about her cause she's 2000 light years away" imo). The way he describes waking up like that makes me think of waking up in a hotel room and wishing she was there. It's open to different interpretations of course but I think of it that way and pair it up with Missing You (they even both have lines that are typical of the way he describes himself and Adrienne: "I'm a mess and you're a work of art" and "you're not around and I'm a complete disaster").
