I didn't, I have to give credit where credit is due.  However, I am a bit pissed at myself that someone, who's name I won't mention, figured it out before me.

Aussies are a superior race.

Mhmm. The description below the video states as much, so well done to those that did guess it was promo for 'Turn It Around'.

As far as I know that info was already clear before the video was released. Wasn't it mentioned before that Turn It Around would be promoted by Green Day with Rev Rad as a single? Or was it just known that GD would promote it, but we didn't know how yet? I don't remember, lol.

It's evident now that they launched this way too late. So far (in the last 3 days), it's only picked up around 626,276 views , which is really bad for a channel with more than 2 Million subscribers...

My local alt radio station mentioned that they had it up on their website but then played Still Breathing instead.  Total disconnect.

Personally I don't understand why people even loved "Still Breathing" video.

I'm not really a video hound so I don't care that much but Still Breathing reminded me of a bad version of Macy's Day Parade but cheesy.  I never loved Still Breathing. It looked nice but it was cheesy and considering the depth of the lyrics, the video itself seemed fake and well, again, cheesy.

This video is Green Day rocking out.  That's just fine for my eyes. i don't need to see a tear rolling down Billie's face.

I agree.

This would have been a great video for Outlaws.  A video and A SONG we here are on the setlist soon.

I am amazed we don't here "Troubled Times" on the setlists. I bet we do this leg.

Agreed, SB is kind of cheesy. The video even amplifies it. It doesn't stop me from liking the song/video though. Tbh, I'm not interested in videos very much and if I saw SB three times, it's more than I remember.

So how does this video stack up against their others?  That's something we haven't done on here that I know of - rank the music videos!

For me, this one is probably fifth worst music video by the Green guys.  Here are my least favorite official Green Day music videos:

East Jesus Nowhere (live footage - the worst art form on the planet. Also one of my least favorite singles)

Welcome to Paradise.   (live footage, ugh)

Brain Stew / Jaded.   (worst  non-performance video)

The Forgotten  (Of all things, why Twilight?  Could have been on The Trolls soundtrack and would have turned out better!)

Revolution Radio (Weird performance, weird angles and tacky clothing.  Visually unpleasing.  The only visual positive is the Sweet Ch

ildren sign.  I feel like this could have been a cool video if they had made the younger versions of them playing the song with matching lips.   Sure a lot of artists have done that before but it would have been better than what we got, which is a video that is competing for "best worst video" with Know Your Enemy and losing.   Not.  Freaking.  Good.

Know Your Enemy  (I'm torn on this one.  It's the best of my least favorite videos)

I've got a thing against performance videos I guess.  I really hate live footage music videos.  It just feels like such a waste.

I'm not that into Music Videos anyway, I much prefer live recordings or just the studio audio (and then I use my imagination haha). But I actually like the Brain Stew music video...

Brain Stew?? Seriously? For me it's one of their best. Like Longview or When I Come Around it perfectly matches the atmosphere of the song.

Yep.  It's one of my least favorite singles by them.  Not a bad song, just not one of my favorites.

To get back on track though, I like Revolution Radio as a song and as a single.  I hope it climbs the charts and becomes yet another Green Day classic like Brain Stew.

How many more months before we can actually talk about ALBUM 13?  :)

(I just did some weird math about the length of time the band puts out singles after the album has dropped and the longest they've ever done has been one year, 5 months and 9 days after the album release.   If they push it out that far we'll get our last Revolution Radio single sometime in March 2018.

Looks like ALBUM 13 probably won't be in this decade.   lol)

Lol I didn't know there was anyone else who would rank the Brain Stew video with the all time worst/live footage ones that barely even count as music videos. The band being at a rubbish dump part was alright but that lip syncing thing is so overdone and lame and I still don't know what that random horse was doing in it . I do like the Jaded part though.

I think it's because the part with Tre and Mike on their own and Billie coming back to them is really touching and authentic, it's quite powerful to see them acting out that real situation. That's what I like about it anyway. I think they should've gone the whole hog and made that the whole thing though, showing random other people who are also "still breathing" is kind of uninteresting and unoriginal and just dilutes it. We could get that the lyrics can apply to other people without that.

The Jaded part is pretty good.

Single Review: Green Day – Revolution Radio

As they strut their stuff in the venue that made punk rock an accessible and worthy medication for the estranged, Berkeley powerhouse band Green Day relive a special time.

In the video for their fast-paced and politically drenched song Revolution Radio, they play their hearts out, celebrating and saluting a hallowed space.

The Californian giants did succumb to backlash when they signed to a major label. They were hounded and told never to come back to Gilman Street, as the punk purists scorned the band’s hard decision. But in 2017, things are pretty and punk is still biting, and Green Day have been welcomed back.

In the video, there are snapshots of Green Day’s younger days, when there was no glitz, but dirty punk rock. And it’s fitting that the director of the video and the band placed these pivotal and memorable snippets in to create a poignant and arresting experience. And Green Day may be a colossal act, but on this evidence, they showcase that they’re at one with their roots.

Almost made me like the video more.   :)

I hope the song keeps slowly climbing to number one, even if it's just on one chart.   It's be their 14th, right?

In keeping with Green Day's crack marketing team, I received an email from them today announcing the videos release.  Better late than never.

Wow!

This typifies their approach to marketing during the Rev Rad era. The marketing has been dismal.
