RedundantIdiot Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Pause the video at 1:46 I really like the mixture of old and new footage. However, given that we've waited 5 months for it, it hasn't quite matched my expectations. I'd give the video a 7/10
Jonas01 Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I think it's a great video but i think it would have been better with a live video of the song and then maybe some flashbacks...
PaleStardust Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I actually really enjoyed it! I felt there was something missing, but I loved the old footage and the Sweet Children sign. It was pretty good. For me, it was better than Still Breathing.

If you want to rip any video in 1080p, it always has to be without the audio. ((Which is a shame because VEVO upscales older videos to 1080p as well, making them look as close to the raw file as you can get without DVD Ripping.))
DeJennsitized Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Watched it again, and it's now annoying me how the shots don't really seem to go with the music. Like when they incorporate the 'old video' look to present day GD. It should really come in for the last chorus, but it doesn't until a few lines after, meaning we don't really get to see the effect and the comparisons for long. The 360 shots kinda ruin the flow as well. And although the old footage is great, i feel like more effort could have gone into getting more of them, or even making it look like they were playing Revolution Radio (there was one moment when baby!Tre hit a cymbal that was perfect timing with the song, and I wish there'd been more of those moments) On a plus note, the HD is awesome. And I do see why they might have wanted the 360 view, Gilman is a really cool looking place and they probably wanted to show it off

Don't like the 360 cam very much, but other than that it's great! that is best part for me...about the 360 cam. I am wondering if boys using IPhone 7 for that shot. and I get it that Boys want to go back to their "root" but I don't really understand, why they keep coming back to Gilman. Isn't that place they got kick out and some people said they are "Sell out" just saying. What are boys trying prove?

But on the other hand I kind of like how simple and plain it is. It perfectly represents the whole Revrad-era for me. It's about those three adorable guys making music together for 30 years. That's it! In crazy times like this, where everything always has to be even more spectacular than everything else, simplicity really stands out. Even if only real fans get the meaning behind it with Gilman and Sweet Children and everything. But that's okay. I agree completely. I always prefer the simple GD videos over the more complicated ones. Because of this, the RevRad video is one of my favourites.
imXieli Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 i feel like they should've done this video for forever now.. that song's more personal to the band than a rally cry and they could've shown more footage
Billie Hoe Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 They could have done the entire music video as a 360 video 😄 54 minutes ago, imXieli said: i feel like they should've done this video for forever now.. that song's more personal to the band than a rally cry and they could've shown more footage No, Forever Now definitely deserves better. They always say that Revolution Radio is about the fans or their relationship with us, so it would have been cool if their music video reflected that. I don't mean in a "let's just record a show" like for East Jesus Nowhere, but they could have done something really cool with it. The Gilman is a cool idea but it doesn't fit the song at all, not in meaning and not in tempo.
St. Jonny Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 They definitely should have had more going on besides just the band. I kind of appreciate the simplicity too but yeah the lyric video at least had that guy flying during the solo which was cool. I do like the old shots they had in there though, those were killer but it needed something else going on as most of their videos do. Watching the video makes it seem more like a Trilogy song. I don't hate it though, its just a music video anyway, the song is awesome as fuck!!

Chin for a Day Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I will give credit to my BBB, @Tinkle. She said that she thought it was a promo for the East Bay Punk documentary. With that angle, the video makes sense
Marki. Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 ^ Yes... I only realized when I saw that Billie shared it and promoted the documentary today -

Whether you take that seriously or not is up to you I'm still loving this video, the idea is simple but so cool.
