Again, it has gained more views in the last two days than any of the other Green Day videos (besides the music videos) uploaded in last 6 months combined

It's now close to 2 Mio.!

Yes, just audio. Either way, the last time we had the full set officially broadcasted of a standard gig in any way was 2005 Rock Am Ring I think...

What about Reading 2013?

No, that was illegally taken from a private BBC satellite stream. Bless the person who did it, but it wasn't permitted officially.

So, I'm still sceptical wether they'll broadcast the entire set (so 27 songs, if you count the 5 songs in encore 1&2), or wether they'll omit the last few songs and some songs in between (like for the Sirius Broadcast last year). I really really hope they don't though, that would be so annoying...

Actually, I'm going to give them credit for this. Last time a video showing the crowd in Emirates Stadium singing Bohemian Rhapsody went viral, I think... Still, if anyone from Green Day is reading this: UPLOAD SOME GODDAMN GREEN DAY LIVE FOOTAGE FOR F**K'S SAKE! *rant over*

Agree!!

Finally! Green Day's promo team GOT THEIR SHIT TOGETHER!

Absolutely! Someone needs to be on top of this!

It's audio but i was so hoping for a full concert video... :(

Hmm, if the guide says 9pm-11pm that means they may shorten the set a bit  (because Green Day's set is 2.5h, maybe they'll have everything up to the encore, but not the two encores. I really hope that's not the case).

Also, I hope as many people as possible will record this, so we can choose the version with the best possible audio (.flac would be nice). Since this isn't video, I will be recording this too, as my computer can handle it, but I'm not such an expert on audio files and formats, so there's a good chance someone else might have a better recording!

EDIT: Ah no, I think you misread it, the slot is actually 9pm-12pm (it just doesn't give 12pm as reference, but you can see that after 11pm it goes on). So yeah, let's hope this means: the full set!

They did say full set didn't they tho

Yes, I know, I'm just a sceptical person haha. The thing is, Green Day's team doesn't seem to be most generous team there is when it comes to pro-shot video / audio. Very rarely do they give permission for more than a few songs...

Very rarely we get anything pro footage... Except from the teasers. I think the US tour teaser was great, but the Oakland Coliseum was truly horrible imo

Just listened to a 20 second preview from Hyde Park the audio is savage ! :runaround:

Link? Because this is important, I'd like to know wether it's well mixed. Not sure if the Absolute Radio guys are good at this or not, since I haven't listend to any other live stuff by them. The Sirius Broadcast last year was mixed alright, but the audio seemed really muddy somehow. I hope that won't be the case this time...

@MilleniumFan I was listening live on Absolute Radio they play bang bang it sounded better than the Siurx FM one . Who actually recorded the Hyde Park audio ? ( because Green Day record the audio themselves at every big show ) . And i wonder how Absolute Radio got chosen because their not exactly a big name in the radio world in the UK ! .

Ah ok, pity, but I'll take your word for it. Yeah, Green Day recorded the audio and gave it to Absolute Radio (presumably), I don't think they'd put up their own mics and equipment tbh. Actually, when it comes to rock/alternative, Absolute Radio are fairly well know in the UK, especially in the area of London (which would make sense for Hyde Park).

It should be 10/10 quality then , because is that the same way they recorded asf ? .  Alright cool I hope to capture it in FLAC which i estimate will be over 2gb in size for the whole show ! . haha

Posted

In theory yes, but compression and mixing both play a huge role. I think the audio was compressed quite a lot for the Sirius Broadcast...

Is the audio from the show available now?

Posted

No, no. It is set to be broadcasted by Absolute Radio on Thursday 13th at 9pm (GMT +1) until around 12pm. So, it should be up online by next friday.

EDIT: @AimieeSmith was quicker :P

It would have been nice with a live album :/

Posted

Yeah, a live album where time and effort was spent to make the audio sound incredible is always nice. However, at the moment I think I'll just take what I can get...

Does anyone know if I can pick this up on radio.garden?  I'm looking through 25 pages of London stations and I don't see Absolute Radio listed.  Is it under another name or not out of London?  I was hoping to listen that way.
