Just being silly, you can't argue that we'd be keen!

I'd be keen on it too.

Though I do think the following Instagram video (South Africa Tour Trailer; soon probably to be released on YouTube) is what the inside information I was given was referring to, I still hope I’m wrong and that there’s more to it (though that is of course wishful thinking :( )!

Ok, I was right in part I guess, more pro-shot footage in this video. Still, I just somehow can't accept that this is all, it just looks too awesome!

Oh man, there seems to be so much great material from this tour. And it was a great tour. I'm just repeating what has already been said a million times, but it would be a shame if we didn't get to see any of it.

C'mon guys, give us some more material! :D

Does anyone know what they do with the loads of recordings from each tour? I'm pretty convinced they archive everything, but I'm wondering how much is sifted through and categorized vs. just being kept in raw form in archives somewhere. I know that they travel with video equipment if not a video crew (I'm not sure if it's a proper camera crew, but they always have tour staff recording). And at the larger venues they obviously have a video feed for the screens. Even at soundcheck for each show (or at least the ones I've seen, which have all been random and not special occasions or anything) there's always a person or two recording with pro equipment. I've never asked about it but probably should the next time I have a chance. Do you guys know if they tour with a video crew or what the extent of video recording and archiving is?

It's a shame that so much material is recorded and never sees the light of day. I really can't imagine that they record so much footage only to use it for trailers where we see only seconds of it. They could easily release a few songs from their Hyde Park show or other festival shows of the summer like Nova Rock (they have used that show for several trailers), I just don't see the point. And I had really hoped it would change with the new management.

So yeah, if you have the chance to ask the crew one day, please do it, would be really interesting to know.

It is still possible that @LaughingClock knows something on this front and is still keeping mum. He said there was more than the Greatest Hits collection and new songs. I’m hoping a film/dvd retrospective of this tour.

Good point- between he and I we should be able to solve this mystery! Whenever I am so lucky to see anyone I always waste time (aside from just turtling into a cocoon of fanshock) asking about ridiculous stuff like the Network and PHGP recording sessions. This question is the real deal though- seriously, what do they do with the thousands of hours of recoded footage? I think an "all access" data dump of this stuff would be super interesting to us fans. There's not much value in archiving loads of content just for the sake of it, right?

We are not too far away now from the end of this tour, and so far it looks like we'll finish it with no pro shot footage from GD own gigs. A huge shame and a big letdown from a otherwise awesome tour.

Just saw this... Look at the video here from Argentina.... You clearly see a camera man but is it just a regular guy who record for the screens on stage or ... ?

Yes, I know, I keep seeing guys with cameras obviously filming, but I don’t know how we’d would know if it was for sharing later, we can hope!

Yes it is quite clear that they are filming, but i mostly think that it is for the screens on stage which have been used on the outside venues during the south america tour

Well if they do release a film of this tour I hope it’s more than a concert film. They are celebrating a new era of the band right now. What I would like to see is recognition of that in the form of interviews and a little background footage of their journey over the last few years including the making of RevRad and culminating in the tour. Like BIAB but with an updated look.

That would be cool, but there's just no indication there otherwise. Still, if there really was a director traveling with them that could maybe mean something, then again it could not...

Yes. And i just so hope that if we'll get a movie, it will be produced by Eagle Rock. They make awesome concert movies. Just watch Rolling Stones live Havana Moon and also Black Sabbath The End. The picture quality in BIAB and AAF is not very good in my opinion.

The thing is (and I could be wrong) but that kind of director wouldn't be doing concert films and I honestly don't see a full length concert film in the works for this tour. What I hope we get now is at least some kind of live footage (be it in that documentary or not, or as bonus somewhere, or on YouTube etc.).

This question may sound very dumb, but is there any way we can get in touch with the GD promo manager or someone like that? Because i just get more and more frustraded seeing all of these epic shows in South America and not recording it. Jesus. It is so irritating that i actually sent a message to Green Day's official Instagram account. Don't think i'll get an answer but.

Oh I've tried, I've written e-mails several times to Green Day's current and former managers, as well as to the more superficial ''Idiotnationinfo'' E-Mail address. If anyone has any other suggestion on how to reach them, feel free. Naturally, I didn't hear back...

Spoiler

I do realize that I'm ''just a crazy hard core fan'', but I think part of that is just a superficial pretext to deflect / reject any criticism. The promotion of the band was really horrendous at times, so I think it's fair to give an opinion to their management team as a fan...

The release of any more footage from this tour would be a surprise for me at this point. The festival season in Europe is usually the time of the year when artists give permission to stream their shows online or release clips from the shows. Since that hasn't happened, I doubt that there's anything more to come. I don't know why they have this strategy but I don't believe that it has something to do with Warner since others artist that are signed to Warner are not that strict when it comes to live footage. So it's probably a decision made by the band. I don't understand it and I find it quite frustrating and even a bit cheeky to be honest. But who knows, maybe we'll get another DVD? Would be a surprise though.

Well, all one can do is try. There more people seem to want it / request it, the more likely they'll do it...

You say try, but what can we do? We can't like kidnap Greg Scheider or who the fck it is who is in charge of the whole thing and press him to make a movie :D

So Green Day's official Youtube channel just uploaded 2000 lightyeas away and She, aaand Ordinary world (audio only). My question here is WHY couldn't you upload one of these songs in a live performance instead??? Jesus. Would have been a lot better that then to just hear a song and see the album art. WHy just why.....

Looks like we have some actual pro shot footage!
There's a couple of versions of this that are a little louder, just youtube search. This part of the setlist detatched feels like it's from the Nimrod era - love it.

Credit @MillenniumFan for the find

Oh great finally! That's better than nothing! I love it.

Can someone upload this on Mega?

Really nice songs to have as pro-shot, quite decent Audio too, given that it’s live (no editing), a bit thin, but decent. Very good live versions of a few songs. F.O.D has sounded better on other occasions (previously: such as Reading, Madison Square Garden etc.), but I think Geek Stink Breath, Nice Guys Finish Last and Hitchin A Ride all sounded really good!
