herewegoagain Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Is this the pro shot anything-at-all thread now? I was watching the video of the kid playing Knowledge in Indianapolis yesterday (8 years old and he nailed it holy shit) and noticed this comment from his mother.. "Official video" from the management? Do they just mean to send her the footage that was shot for the big screens for the sake of being nice or could it be something else? "Release it at the end of the tour in September" is obviously her words, but that definitely caught my eye.
MillenniumFan Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 Yeah, I'm confused too... I know that in the past parents have contacted the management and sometimes got exclusive pro-shot video. However, for obvious reasons they were not allowed to share it online. I wonder if she means that, or that they will actually publically upload it to YouTube. Personally I think that's unlikely. I think maybe they just don't have the time to deal with it at the moment while on tour and need to do it during a break...
pacejunkie punk Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Yeah maybe a private link for all the people who get on stage? But we've had users here that have gotten on stage and they weren't told that were they?
herewegoagain Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Ah yeah I kinda read it the wrong way, guess they mean "releasing" it to her/the family. Either they don't have time or they put it off till after the tour to prevent the family from potentially sharing it anyway. My brain thought it might be some accidental dvd info leakage, but guess that's a little optimistic...
DeJennsitized Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 It's the fact she says they'll send her it, but will also release it at the end of the tour. So maybe there is something coming up??
MillenniumFan Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 No way live DVD though, would make no sense logically from the lack of equipment etc. They should, no question, but it doesn't seem like that's happening (yet). At most they might upload something to YouTube. But even that seems unlikely. Why now, why that particular one. Anyway, I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

So maybe there is something coming up?? That's what I read at first too, but it could just as easily mean "send it to us but not until the end of tour", imo. And this is one person's frankly biased/excited words She seems articulate enough but the problem is you never know what non-existant facts people base their words on lol. Would be sick if it means something more though. September is not far away

September is not far away Yeah, that would be great, but it seems unlikely. But I have a tiny, tiny piece of hope left that we could get something from Hyde Park. Last year, Sky Arts broadcasted some highlights of the British Summer Time in late August. Maybe they'll do it this year too? Did anyone in the UK hear anything about that? Green Day gave permission to broadcast some songs on the radio from that show, so maybe.... ?
Jonas01 Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Is it possible to change this thread to ''Green Day pro shot footage''? Of course we hope so as the boys are at their best live, but no it won't happen. I have thought about another reason for why we won't get a new live DVD for now except from the bad promo team, but i was thinking that the tour budget isn't high enough to make movie? If you look at the stage setup - there aren't screens, there aren't like any slideshow/pictureshow/animations on stage like it was during the 21st CB tour), there is just these big posters and too me maybeee that indicates that their touring budget isn't high enough to make a movie? Just thinking.

They did say in an interview they thought the 21CB tour got a little too big and out of hand and for this tour they wanted to create a more intimate atmosphere as if they were playing a theater. I think that's the thought behind the no frills stage setup (Still plenty of pyro though). At any rate, I don't think it's a budget issue and I'm not sure it would preclude a dvd. The biggest argument against it is that it would typically require cameras on cranes and very obvious filming equipment that we haven't seen at any show.

Precisely! With a bit of creativity they could probably do something with existing footage from the stage cameras, if they recorded it that is. However, I still hope that they'll do a full scale DVD / live album, maybe in South America...

Yosuke Hanamura Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 In other news: The Global Citizen Festival airs on MSNBC, so Pro-Shot from there may be possible.

That's assuming they get permission to air Green Day's performance of course (which they didn't for other European festivals). But 🤞

But 🤞 Considering that 1: It's a major festival in Central Park 2: It's aired on a major channel owned by a major company (NBCUniversal) 3: I believe it also has a webcast 4: It's a free concert (Free Green Day events usually get a Pro-Shot of some kind.) 5: Nobody in the history of the Global Citizen Festival (as of now) has ever said no to a Pro-Shot Green Day's team is kind of put back into a corner here. There's no excuse. If they don't air anything, they will be shooting themselves in the foot big time.

Jonas01 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I just dream of a proper Eagle Rock produced Green Day concert live in South America ....
jengd Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I so want decent live footage. I was all fired up to see them twice this tour, once at the O2 in London and then in Glasgow which would have been the first time I had seen them with such a big crowd and outdoors so still getting over losing that show. Hopefully new management will talk WB into letting us see more live footage SOON!

Yes, yes exactly! I've been posting plenty of live album / DVD related comments on a lot of Green Day related instagram accounts. Can't be sure that they see or read them, but I know for a fact that a few people that know the band personally did... So, I still have hope...
BucksCoEric Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I am currently in the process of recovering from the green day show last night which was the second time i saw them this year, and im still speechless their management isnt letting any pro shot footage get made for a dvd movie or at least be released from a festival. My friend whose a moderate green day fan who had never seen them before joined me last night and she was blown away. The look on her face when they brought a kid on stage to play guitar was priceless. Any rock fan would be blown away by their performances and the fact thar green days management isnt capitalizing on this is a horrible mistake. End rant.
RedundantIdiot Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I will scream if there's no pro footage by the end of the tour. This is the 1st full GD era that I have been a fan of the band, therefore I'd really appreciate some pro footage.
Jonas01 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 If we finish this tour without a live DVD / Album i wouldn't be shocked because i know how bad the promo team is, i would just be so so so so dissapointed and sad, because just imagine a Eagle Rock produced Green Day live in concert Rio De Janeiro.... 3 hours ago, MillenniumFan said: Yes, yes exactly! Yup i know i want a live DVD just as much as you do, but i think it's extremely unlikely to happen
MillenniumFan Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 Well, all one can do is try. There more people seem to want it / request it, the more likely they'll do it...

We can't like kidnap Greg Scheider or who the fck it is who is in charge of the whole thing and press him to make a movie
