unextraordinarygirl Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 All of these videos are so cute. I think he gets distracted easily. It's the equivalent of the dog in the movie Up going "squirrell!" LOL
tresexy101 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Yup, upon further review, he's back on the pills and alcohol. The older videos, sure he forgets....he's drunk as fuck, but the newer ones? hmmmm P.S. is that Katie Holmes at 1:24 mark and again at the 1:47 mark?

stories and songs Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 He temporarily forgets the lyrics to at least one song every night. It's part of his dorky charm. That Ordinary World one is particularly cute.

M0n3y Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 In Brussels and Amsterdam he atleast forgot once the lyrics In Amsterdam he forgot part of Holiday, but I can't remember which one in Brussels. I don't care that he does that, it just makes me smile

Happens a lot more than you think. I've noticed he's actually getting sick of singing this song. It's a hit so he has to sing it but while he loves the song, it would not make the setlist if it wasn't on this album and it wasn't a hit. I've noticed he's getting more bored with this song as the tour goes on. I've seen 8 shows so far this season and I can tell you that he was much more interested in this song during the first few, especially Palladium. He just forgot. There's only so many times you can hear yourself butcher a song before you've had enough.

Why do you think SB wouldn't make it to the setlist if it wasn't a hit, just out of curiosity? I think it works great live and it already feels like a song they've played forever, and I was really impressed how the crowd responded to it at the two shows I went to. Maybe because so many people can relate to it. So I feel like it has become a fan's favourite very fast. But, yeah, just because it's a fan's favourite doesn't mean it has to be a band's favourite, too But I seriously hope it will stay in their setlist in a post-RevRad-era.
DeJennsitized Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I think he forgot some lyrics to Longview in London, but no one cares! It's funny, and while I can't watch YT videos in work, I can't wait to watch the ones in this thread - it's very endearing. And also, I'm pretty sure we listen to the songs more often than Billie does

St. Jonny Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Pulling off every lyric in exact order with no stumbles throughout a 2 and half hr performance is no walk in the park. Your brain get's lost on auto-pilot sometimes and once in a while you get a brain fart and zone out for a second. On stage brain farts, all musicians get them once in a while.
jengd Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 At severe risk of straying into fan girl territory, if it means we get that smile and laugh, then Billie can forget as many lyrics as he wants. I've been to shows where every single word and move is perfectly choreographed and don't like it, it seems really fake. Think we can all relax, it's just a loss of concentration thing. I don't agree that he's getting fed up with SB although I've only been to one show, he see,ed pretty passionate while singing it at the o2 and it was ace.

That's what I sometimes get while playing piano. I'm no musician but a couple of years ago I learnt few things by heart and nowadays my hands can play it only if I don't 'wake up' from the moment and my brain doesn't stop the proces causing my hands 'forget' everything It's actually pretty uncomfortable and disappointing, when you want to play but suddenly nothing comes to you

In fact, SB is a very fast song but it lacks some of the things that I THINK Billie enjoys playing repeatedly. I mean you can just see that he is getting a little tired of playing that song. I could, and actually hope I'm wrong because it's one of my personal favorites on many levels but I was thinking that before I saw that video of the flubbed lyric and while there are many reasons for flubbed lyrics, contrary to what you might think, singing the same song day in and day out is not something that helps. The manotony of it can take a toll and on that video that someone posted looked like a man that was going through the motions to the next song. It was a wholly different live song when I saw it the first 4 or 5 times live but of course I was there which usually helps the enjoyment factor. I could be wrong. I have been before. They crucified me. Do you think maybe it's because he doesn't play guitar live on this track? Just a thought...! (now trying to think of other songs he just sings on live, St Jimmy?). I kind of get what you mean, it doesn't seem to have that 'something', it just kind of plods along in comparison to others (although I personally love it!)

I hope for Billie's sake that he doesn't get bored with his own songs in such short time. Most of the recent SB performances I've seen have been on fire, but I get that the physical strain and repetetivenes of touring can take its toll. I sincerely hope they keep it forever, anyway. Forgetting lyrics in general is only natural and adds to the fun!
Clockwise Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Don't think he is bored of the song, I just literally think he gets tired during performing it because it's one of the hardest songs for him to sing physically.

It was the only time that I was on Jason White's side so Billie said the "I'm getting old" bit to my area and it was extra funny Can we include the "skyscrapers, stargazers in my MIND" mistake here? I really hate it
unextraordinarygirl Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 I don't think it's a fair assumption to think that he is getting tired of singing SB. We don't truly know him or how he feels so let's not put feelings into him that he may not have.
