MillenniumFan Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Yeah, I agree, I think that one uses footage from Paris amongst other things. The first trailer just used footage from the Italy shows...
Jonas01 Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 But still, maybe not even a movie if that isn't possible, but just one song? Like Boulevard at rose bowl for example? Just something! Right now i am stuck watching all the fan footage from the gigs, because there isn't any other professional footage except from the red bull sound space, ama, mtv and i heart radio ....

There were lots of mics directed to the audience and during Holiday, they obviously used a 360°-camera. Don't know if they do this at every show? But some people assumed that they were collecting material for a live DVD. Kind of late to this but I noticed them filming in Cologne as well and it was the only show where they did so from the ones I attended.
MillenniumFan Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 @Jonas01 Yeah, I feel the same way. I'm not saying that they won't do a concert movie or live CD in the future (a CD isn't even that unlikely, since they do record all of their concerts). The last concert movie which was a bonus DVD for Awesome As F**k, was recorded in one of the later legs of the tour in Asia, so it's possible that they'll record a concert during some later leg of tour (such as in Hyde Park or maybe even Rose Bowl or if they announce concert dates after that, some gig in Asia or South America etc., that's completely possible. All I said was, if they were recording footage for a concert film, you'd notice it. They'd have a whole team of people walking on and around the stage with cameras, additional camera cranes, cameras somewhere in the crowd etc. I think they even set up special lights and extra stuff. However, personally, I think recording a song from each or a few shows and then turning those into one show would be a great, new idea.

I assumed they would only use it for promotional videos due to the lack of proper full size cameras, camera cranes and just general camera angles and it turns out I was right. However, could you leave a link to the promotional video for the Download Festival, I haven't seen that one yet. I do know that they did a second trailer for the North America tour, now using only footage of the first leg of the RevRad tour: And for New Zealand Leg: Ah sorry, it was on Facebook, i don't have the link... but thank you i didn't know they did trailers like this ! If i see it again,i will post the link.
Minority103 Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 I'd love to have a live album like Bullet in a Bible! In my opinion they will record the Hyde Park show! By the way in this tour Greg has been filming a lot, he even asked to me and my friends to dance and sing loud during some song, I don't know if for some promo videos like the ones above or because they will use it for other things
MillenniumFan Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 I don't think the BBC broadcast BST, or at least, there aren't any clips on YouTube. Live footage from Hyde Park on YouTube is either: live DVD from bands such as ''The Who'' or ''Blur'' or clips from BBC Radio 2's festival in September. I think the next pro shot footage of Green Day that we're likely to get is: 1. Pinkpop (although only a few songs, not the entire concert), broadcast over the festival's own channel. 2. From one of the two german festivals, either from Hurricane or Southside Festival. There is the possibility that EinsPlus, DasDing or ZDF might broadcast some or even all of the show. However, wether or not we get to see any pro shot TV recordings of Green Day isn't just dependent on whether or not a TV channel is willing to broadcast the show, but also on whether or not Warner will let them do it or not. So, it's a complicated matter, I'm afraid.

When they broadcasted the show of Rock am Ring 2013 (or at least most parts of it) was SO awesome because I was there live and it was fantastic to see the show afterwards on TV. Totally brought the feeling back. I won't be at Hurricane or Southside, but it would still be great to see the gigs on TV.

There have been BST programmes from last year on recently, noticed them on satellite on UK, but can't remember which channel I think maybe BBC4 but could be wrong. Made me hopeful for footages from this year
MillenniumFan Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Well it's possible, but all I can say is, none of it is on YouTube...

Jonas01 Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 All in all, i just hope we can get SOME quality footage from the tour... Not any visual effects etc... Just proper quality
Jonas01 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Up Just got to dream about Hyde Park - Rose Bowl or something!
jengd Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 I see on the thread for last night's show, a camera person was posting about filming them so hopefully.....
MillenniumFan Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Yeah, but it was only one person as far as I can see. Still I asked him on Instagram who he was filming for, or why he was filming, or just where the videos would be published (if at all), but so far, I haven't got any answer.
Andrew_Lyon_8 Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 I think we will get a new studio record or a rarities/b-sides record before another live record. I know I'm looking forward to whatever they've got in store for us. I just wish they'd change up their setlist more. Like in the 21CB era. Different every single show. The set is the exact same every show this tour. Not what I like to see.
MillenniumFan Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Am I the only one to be really excited about the pro-shot snippets of the Live Concert in Dallas? Damn, if not official content, I'm hoping for some festival pro shot recordings in the summer...
Jonas01 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 If we look at Metallica for example, they release one good footage video from one of their songs live. Why can't GD do this?
1039Revolutions Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 A great idea for a new live DVD (But really expensive to make) would be a Revolution Radio World Tour DVD featuring a songs in different cities and having small interviews with the band members about the city before the performances like: 1. Interview about London England and how they feel about the city, fans and playing there, clips of the band in the city, talking a bit about the new album and song, then a performance (Know Your Enemy) 2. Interview about Phoenix Arizona and how they feel about the city, fans and playing there, clips of the band in the city, talking a bit about the new album and song, then a performance (Bang Bang) And so forth.. I think that would be amazing!

The idea you have is truly great, but i'm so sad to think that a new concert movie won't happen, at least not during the revrad tour. Maybe we can get some proper footage from one of the festivals this year. But the fact is that we haven't got any professional video from one of their shows on the revrad tour...
madafaka Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 We had the same discussion back in 2013. People who got into the band around American Idiot tend to have this skewed belief that every tour must culminate in a live album/dvd. This is because for the first two eras they experienced, this was the case. But what they also forget is that they didn't release any for their previous albums (at least not officially). The way I see it, Bullet In a Bible was a product of the massive success of the American Idiot tour. There was a demand for that particular tour to be documented, and BIAB was also a huge success on its own. I remember a lot of my classmates owning it even though they weren't fans per se. The way BIAB was a product of AI's success, Awesome as Fuck was a product of both BIAS's and 21CB's success. A live album had been a huge hit with AI, and as we know, 21CB was an effort to copy the AI formula in many ways, so they did something similar. It was not that succesful outside of the fanbase. Not a flop, but a flop by BIAB standards. My point here is that I see Bullet in a Bible and Awesome as Fuck as standalone cases. They were products of that specific "rock opera" era. People tend to think that live albums are some sort of "tradition" that Green Day has, but this is not true. Especially since they didn't release anything for Uno, Dos & Tre. Had they released one in 2013, I'll admit a trend was forming, but they didn't. On a slightly different note, is the RevRad tour really worth documenting for anyone but hardcore fans? In many ways the shows are just a less epic version of the AI tour, with a handful of new songs. It needs to sell in order for it to make sense to even produce it in the first place, and I highly doubt that there is a market for a Green Day live album right now.
MillenniumFan Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 @madafaka You're right with a lot of what you say. The truth is, my gut feeling is telling me, no, there won't be a new live album (for all the reasons you mentioned above), but the things is, I nonetheless kind of convince myself into thinking there will be, because frankly, I'm a bit desperate lol. Why? Well, it is my believe that Green Day is inherently a live band. They're not only best when live, but I personally find a live concert / performance is the best and sometimes the only way for me to really enjoy their music. So, I kind of crave pro-shot footage / recordings. This particularly, since recent recordings (even from festivals last tour) were poorly mixed and not mastered, meaning they didn't reach the level of quality found on Green Day's official live albums. Now, you say, at the moment, a live album really wouldn't sell well (especially outside the fan base). But, I do ask myself why it is that other bands put out plenty of live records, usually not with the intent of it being a financial success, so mostly aimed at the fan base... Why can't Green Day do this too? I mean, the mere existence of this thread proves their are fans such as myself, who'd be willing to buy a new live album or DVD. Whether the numbers are large enough to make it financially viable, is a different question though...
