Rumpelstiltskin2000 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 If I remember right it was during the US summer tour 2010 (around the Denver show?) as @Montclare said 1 Quote

To be subtly and naturally led or attracted to something, often a path or direction, without a conscious or forceful effort. It suggests a gentle almost instinctive pull towards something that resonates with your inner self. 2 Quote

It's from a poem by Rumi. The full quote is, 'Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.' 3 1 2 Quote
Mollyluna Posted March 20 Posted March 20 @Dingle @solongfromthestars That sounds really nice, I like that meaning. Thank you very much! Quote
deadair Posted April 4 Posted April 4 If anyone here went to the first Green Day Wrigley Field show in 2017, did they only sell the specially made specific show poster or did they also sell a summer tour poster? If they did sell a tour poster was it of them wearing the masks of their faces with the summer dates I went to the show in Green Bay, WI in March of that year and have one with the spring dates. Undómiel Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Who has managed the band over the years? For how long? Who is their manager now? Quote

Undómiel Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Might be a dumb question but the ear pieces they wear during shows, are they just ear protection or is there some kind of audio feed there too? Quote

As I understand it, such an ear-in helps a musician to hear his own voice and instrument better while the other instruments are in the background. Some kind of filter I guess… 1 2 Quote

Some kind of filter I guess… Exactly. It also keeps out distracting background noise. Back in July 2023, in the beautiful Quebec City, the band played live first song from Saviors, 1981. Unfortunately, technical issues caused Billie Joe's ear device to temporarily lose contact with other band's instruments. Risking losing his place in song along with timing. You can see Billie Joe touching his ear part way through. But, like the true professional he is, there's no panic, the connection is soon restored, and he keeps pace and carries on. That's what makes live music so unique and special, especially when it's GD. 1 4 Quote
Undómiel Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Awesome, thanks both. I thought there was probably some function other than protection, but just wanted to check. 3 Quote

We had a similar experience at a show with the Donots (that German punk band that opened for Green Day last summer in Berlin and Hamburg): the band‘s tech guy accidentally exchanged the in-ears of the singer and the guitarist. The result was endearingly chaotic…😂 But I can imagine that Billie can cope with such a situation, no problem… 2 2 Quote

The nice thing about in ear monitors is each one is customized for each player so they get the mix that suits them best and can hear what they need to. They can also communicate with each other on stage through the in ears via one microphone that you can sometimes see set back near the drum kit. Billie can speak in that one to call an audible or make a comment and the other players can hear him but the audience can't. 4 Quote

Yeah I knew about the mic (which is why I probably should've fully guessed about the ear pieces!). I can just imagine them cracking jokes into it from time to time. 4 Quote

I feel like someone mentioned it 🤔 Thanks though 😊 the pyros during BIAB are quite cool, but I think it's come a long way even since then for sure 2 Quote
