What if Billie is replaced with former Smash Mouth singer, Steve Harwell?

Oh and over time Tre and Mike leave as well.

Travis Barker takes over drums AND bass for a time before getting Lil Wayne's bass player.

Green Day will become a combination of Rap, Smash Mouth and +44.

I'd give it a chance.

Who should be in Green Day 0.0 - the next generation?

Kiss and Slipknot say they are going to pass their torch but so far, no dice.

But Green Day?

They have to pass their torch.

Don't let the bonfires go out!

I'm sorry but no way. I've followed my beloved Green Day since '91.

Billie Joe, Mike and Tre is Green Day and Green Day is Billie Joe, Mike and Tre, period. Irreplaceable.

If Tre were to quit, would that be the end?

No unless it would be a good opportunity to make it one.

When John Kiffmeyer (Al Sobrante) left GD to attend college Billie Joe and Mike tried other drummers but the band almost folded. Then after a few weeks, The Lookouts broke up and their drummer Tre Cool became available. He immediately took GD to next level. Both his drumming qualities and his unique personality, was perfect for the band. The rest is history.

There are many amazing drummers out there but is there another Tre?

The band have always loved and craved touring. I think they've a few years yet.

If they break up, what if Tre quits? I'll cop out on that one. I don't want to think about it, yet.

Ok, let's say by some miracle you find a Mike2 and a Tre2. What about Billie Joe? He's one hell of a songwriter, churns out awesome songs time and time again, sings and is one amazing guitarist.

But that's not all. Seeing Billie Joe live on stage is something else. I remember at Milton Keynes, the AI tour '05, 65k people, and he is in total control. The perfect showman. Your just totally mesmerized as he runs round the stage, lifting his hands like a conductor and you respond.

So where the fuck are yer gonna find a Billie Joe2? Not on this fuckin planet.

I still can't get over how Van Halen, Journey and Queen replaced their frontmen but no, Green Day won't continue as Green Day without all three.

I think if they wanted to they could go on without anyone except for BJA, but I doubt they would. (Even though who knows).

Johnny Stevens (Highly Suspect) - vocals and guitar.

Henrik Höckert (Viagra Boys) - bass

John Dolmayan (System of a Down)  - drums

We're going to have a bit of a hurdle getting used to this, but it'll be good.

It‘s not easy to replace a frontman. Thats why I think we will never see Linkin Park again. They try some things in the studio but thats it.

Same with Green Day. They‘re friends for so long and even their families. You can‘t replace any of them and I dont want it.

Billie Joe could join Linkin Park and Corey Taylor could join Velvet Revolver.

What are some songs written about Green Day or the band members?

I know about "I Miss The Old Green Day"  and something called Thrice the Heaney but that's it.

There's a reference in a Patent Pending song. Can't remember the title now. I bet @solongfromthestars will remember which it is

Taylor Hawkins, Tokyo No No

[Bridge]
I remember like yesterday
Billie Joe sitting next to me
I remember Rivers flown away
Not sure if he ever got out of that rain again

I'm a massive Taylor Hawkins fan and I'm surprised I've never noticed this. Fun fact, Billie and Taylor we're both born February 17th, 1972
