Quick google of the first line and seems like it's by a band called Bunkface and it's actually called Soldier. Didn't think it sounded like Billie at all! Ugh, i hate when people make up stuff like this for a few YT views.

Some Facebook page (dedicated to concerts in Argentina) has strongly hinted that Green Day will be coming here in September. Does anyone have any info on where this comes from and wether it is true? I want to know if I can start getting super excited or if I should remain skeptical.

I'll post it here since nobody's in the music video thread. Does anyone have the Oh Love video from the Green Day app? The app itself is pretty much dead so... Also most of the links in the video thread are broken or redirect back to GDC.

Yeah, he was talking about reading a Green Day message board. I think most likely the official one.

I genuinely hope he didn't see some of the conversations that took place here over the last few years. Because I can't see how any message board could be bitchier than GDC in years of our lord 2013/2014.

This sounds like a really dumb question but there's just been so much going on politically lately... Was the "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA" chant a Green Day original or was it around before the AMAs?

It was around before, it got big in the massive protests after Trump won the election.

it comes from an old MDC song, the chant was originally "no war, no kkk, no fascist usa". MDC was originally from Texas I think but they moved to San Fransisco so it's pretty likely that the guys in Green Day saw them back in the 80s

He didn't left the band, he's still playng with them live. I guess, he was only invited to play the guitar on Uno, Dos and Tre as an 'official member'.

Well I mean, he's back to just being a live member. I just wanna know why he's not an official full member anymore.

I think they just wanted to let everybody know he played on those records so they gave him credit for that. That doesn't make him really an official full member. He wasn't needed this time around for recording, so that's it. No mystery

Yeah he just didn't happen to play on the album. He battled cancer and was doing his own thing with his own band so maybe it wasn't convenient this time. He's still playing in Green Day so whatevs

Wikipedia says that he was a full member during the trilogy era, is that incorrect? I could have sworn it was official.

Pretty much. He helped in recording and was credited and was playing with the band. Prior to his cancer scare. Now just back to doing what he is needed for live.

The "official" label is pretty much made up by fans. The way it's written there it's as if they made a grand announcement that he's been elevated to being an officially official member or something, but really they never announced anything or called him that, he just got credited equally with the others for playing on the albums and they acknowledged that his role in the band had got bigger in that way. Seems like they preferred to be chill about it so that his role can be what suits them/him at the time rather than labeling him.

Aw, that's disappointing. I got so excited when I thought he was announced as the fourth member. If anyone deserves it, it's him.


Okay so new question: Why don't we hear from Mike and Tre on more songs? Tre specifically contributed a song on Kerplunk and Dookie, and I thought it would be a trend to hear from him once per album, but it stopped after that. I understand (if I'm correct) DUI was supposed to go on Nimrod originally, be we all know what happened. I know he was on American Idiot for a bit, but still. He seems to enjoy doing it, I don't know why we don't hear from him more.

Same goes for Mike. He sung probably half or more of Money Money 2020, yet we don't hear from him much on GD songs aside from B-sides.

I love the variety of having Mike and Tre sing sometimes.
