Was Demolicious really recorded before the actual albums (Uno, Dos, and Tre) were recorded or was it recorded later as a more raw, less polished alternative to a good amount of the trilogy songs after criticism? I'm asking because Green Day didn't start playing the alternate chords at the end of the Demolicious version of "99 Revolutions" live until the 2014 Australia/New Zealand Soundwave festival dates. I just find it kind of weird that they suddenly started playing the demo arrangement live, after they had been playing the final Tre album arrangement for over a year prior.

Does anybody know what exact guitar and color Billie Joe's "Blue" was? I want to save up and get my own someday.

The exact guitar hasn't been made since the late 70's or 80's forget when the lawsuit was its a Fernandes Strat copy which got them sued by Fender finding them used is possible however will set you back and they're not always the easiest to find

Did something happen at the last Reading concert that made BJ played almost the entire time with his black/white Telecaster? I always found it strange since it was the only concert he did that the entire tour...

This is Daphne Blue (although others might say it's Sonic Blue - either way, the colors are barely distinguisable from each other, more so if you're going to cover the entire body in stickers) Fernandes Stratocaster. As Tim said, Fernandes stopped using Strat headstocks in late 70's/early 80's.

Billie's Blue replicas were Fernandeses, not Fenders, though. But Billie, apparently, removed the original neck (you might remember this) and had a new one, with a Strat headstock, custom-made by Fender.

Apparently there was something wrong with Blue. Billie (and so his tech Hans) seldom plays the black/white Telecaster (or many, many copies he made of it) and is quick to give it away to the fans.

you sure about that? he used Blue during the dookie set, which would be where he normally plays it, that's the only part of the reading set that was tuned to E flat, the songs he used the tele for would have normally been played with a les paul junior. it is unusual that he played the tele instead, but i'm glad he did, i always thought it was a pretty cool guitar

Yeah, I figured it should have been something wrong with his Jrs (both tv yellow/shiny white) because it was for the E songs. Also he tried to use a regular black LP for Waiting but ended up smashing it. But I wonder what could have gone wrong exactly

He smashed the guitar because it got out of tune too quickly. He sure comes off as some diva here

My bad. Otavio has pretty much summed it up.

Can anyone identify this place?

Pretty sure they won't because of the original footage's quality (single handed camera). It's not worth it...

Does anyone know the exact strings Mike uses on his bass?

I don't know the exact make, but i'm pretty sure he's claimed to use Fender strings in a few interviews, although on the back of Ernie Ball string packs it lists Green Day as a band who uses their strings. I have no clue about what gauge, but Mike most likely uses nickel roundwound strings.

Mike uses Fender strings and Billie and Jason use Ernie ball.
