Cool story, but couldn't that have been an April Fool's joke?
Give_Me_Novacaine90 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Rolling Stone: 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time 225 'American Idiot' - The Nineties' irrepressible punk brats grew up with a bang, proving they could take on the kind of gargantuan old-school concept album that nobody else seemed to have the guts to try anymore. Billie Joe Armstrong raged against the political complacency of Bush-era America with ferocity and a Who-size sense of grandeur. 193 'Dookie' - The album that jump-started the Nineties punk-pop revival. Singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong boiled suburban boredom into airtight, three-minute shots like "Welcome to Paradise," "Basket Case" and the infectious smash "Longview" – which Armstrong described as "cheap self-therapy from watching too much TV." http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/500-greatest-albums-of-all-time-20120531/green-day-dookie-20120524

desertrose Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Eight Bands That Moved Away from Punk 7. Green Day There are probably a bunch of hip people who say that Green Day was never punk, but let's get real: They totally were (if the Ramones was punk, so was Green Day). However, I think even fans of Green Day's '90s albums would admit that in the last ten years, the band has lost its keys to the punk club. Broadway isn't very punk, guys. http://www.musictimes.com/articles/5189/20140401/8-bands-that-moved-away-from-punk-beastie-boys-green-day-and-more.htm
ThranaM Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I just went on Spotify, and saw "Green Day Live to Air". What is this? It seems to be a live session from 1994 or something. Never seen it before as it says it came out in 2014

UNICORN VOMIT Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Cool story, but couldn't that have been an April Fool's joke? No sorry - he is a bit of a guru this guy - I am lucky to have him treating me.

Never seen it before as it says it came out in 2014 I believe someone said it was just a repackaging of the Radio Daze bootleg.

Popular Post WorryRock02 Posted April 3, 2014 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2014 "You know, the guy just wrote beautiful songs," Armstrong said. "When someone goes that honestly straight to the core of who they are, what they're feeling, and was able to kind of put it out there, I don't know, man, it's amazing. I remember hearing it when 'Nevermind' came out and just thinking, we've finally got our Beatles, this era finally got our Beatles, and ever since then it's never happened again. That's what's interesting. I was always thinking maybe the next 10 years. OK, maybe the next 10 years, OK, maybe. ... That was truly the last rock 'n' roll revolution."
