That would be my choice too. I didn't really feel like "idiot" was used to talk about mental health anymore; it's just used to insult someone who is acting stupid LOL. Is what you said about Instagram real or a joke (I thought it was a joke but this conversation is going on a long time for a joke LOL)?

It did get banned on Instagram, which implies they assume the offensive mh related meaning. 1

Paxton Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 The PC babies and language/thought police are eating their own. Delicious.

Guest Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 After giving this some more thought, it probably is not about mental health; it's probably about any and all insults getting banned because of the epidemic of cyberbullying. And this is why we can't have nice things....

Everyone needs to grow up. “Nobody has the right to not be offended. That right doesn't exist in any declaration I have ever read. If you are offended it is your problem, and frankly lots of things offend lots of people." Rushdie 1
jengd Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Obviously people shouldn’t go around being racist, sexist etc, but how do you judge what someone else may find offensive, especially if you have freedom of speech which is far more important. There is no end to it when we try to please all the people all the time, it never works, never has and never will. 1

I am just trying to provide some context for what is going on. People seem to have lost the ability to debate things and argue with opinions instead of just attacking others. I completely agree that no one has the right not to be offended. People also have the right not to be personally harassed, threatened, etc. That's where the line has been crossed. And because there is so much of that going on now, the knee-jerk reaction has been to silence free speech, which is also bad. I agree that context matters. Anyway, we need you in the fangirls thread LOL, because we seem to have folks there who like to get "offended" and file complaints whenever we admit to having any sexual feelings.

Popular Post GreenDayItaly Posted November 10, 2020 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2020 Green Day's classic single 'Holiday' has just hit Silver certification in the UK. The Grohl Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Green Day why?! Pop Disaster 2 would've been awesome. That's one tour I'm so bummed that I was way too young to even know about. And say whatever you want about Blink live (we know Green Day is the better live band) but I would rather take them than Fall out Boy. Hell, I'd take current Blink playing with Green Day over Fall Out Boy. 1

Popular Post The Grohl Posted November 10, 2020 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2020 I still think they picked the bands they did for Hella Mega because of Crush. They're all on the same label, so it makes sense. 6
Squashie Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Interesting. That looks like a discord chat actually. I wonder if there is a video from a twitch stream of him talking about it. 1
billy1986 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Does Billie get along with Mark? I get the feeling besides Matt Skiba Green Day must not like Blink personally 1
The Grohl Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 I never got the idea that they dislike them as people, but it just seems like they don't care for them as a band in general. I think maybe they find Blink's standard of dick and fart jokes grating? 1
Virginia Lot Lizard Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 I’m glad they’re not doing pop disaster two. 3

Jankowski576 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Blink is the anti Green Day. Immature songwriting, awful live, and currently just having songs written for them. I’m sure Billie thinks it’s a pretty bad stain on the genre 4
