So could very well have been a heart attack. Here is an idea. Pay it no attention. That list will have literally ZERO historical value. 2
LaughingClock Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 Any other mods? Pick up? Where are you? I actually want that but wouldn't pay that much without trying it out. And what year?

Harry Styles please , doubt that song will be on any lists in 5 years. American Idiot might get beaten by some questionable current songs when lists like this get made but it will be remembered much longer. It was, that’s true. So 71 isn’t really a ridiculous spot. It’s more that those who made the list were like “yeah, AI is a bit greater than call me maybe”. Remember this is “greatest” not “most influential”. But yeah no one will remember that Harry Styles song in 5 years. Even Brittany Spears “Toxic” which was like #14 is more memorable (though should not be #14)

Yeah she’s more 90s iconic and 2000s “holy crap she’s still around and boarderline relevant?”

Hence wanting her in it but the best song not being available.

Which to me is basically the end of the 90s. But most of her career has been in the 2000s. But pretty much after Toxic she seemed to fade from the mainstream. Or maybe it just felt that way compared to the previous albums, haha. 1

Does anyone know if there is any consideration given to what bands charge for tickets etc when these lists come out? It seems pretty pointless to just make bald statements about how much money the did (or didn't) make if a large part of it is made up of tickets sales and we all know how the prices vary, especially given some of the names on the list!

It also doesn’t say whether these are net profits after all expenses that the band splits. Of course if GD charged more like some of these other bands they would earn more (also might draw more if they had a big expensively produced show like U2). Hard to say though. It’s also misleading because it’s a snapshot of a given time period where some bands might have played twenty shows and others fifty or more. 1
