Hi guys. I'm a suburban wife and mother who has loved Green Day since AI, and the recent AMA performance rekindled my love for them. I have found myself getting immersed in Green Day related YouTube videos lately and looking up the latest news about them. I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right topic, but I haven't seen much on here about the HBO movie version of American Idiot. Any opinions on Billie Joe playing St Jimmy? Do you think he can pull off playing this character at his age, and do you think HBO will let him do it? I know he was fantastic on Broadway, but that was quite a few years ago. I know, he still looks very young. But I don't know how it will be received. Also, is the project a definite go?

Michelle Obama. Chance the Rapper. N.W.A. Green Day. Bob Dylan. The year's most memorable pop moments

Green Day at the American Music Awards. Award shows can be self-congratulatory and tiresome, especially those in which peer voting is replaced by audience favorites.

Yet there was Green Day in the midst of November’s American Music Awards, breaking the scene to slam President-elect Donald Trump with a protest march chant of “No Trump! No KKK! No fascist U.S.A.!” No real surprise, as Green Day has never played to a nonpartisan crowd, but the band in recent years has been its most passionate when giving into its political tendencies. — Todd Martens

Readers' Poll: 10 Best Songs of 2016

6. Green Day, "Bang Bang"

After three years away, Green Day returned with the gut-punching, raucous "Bang Bang," the lead single off their recent album Revolution Radio. Written from the perspective of a mass shooter, the band gets back to their punk roots and politically charged later years as they address American gun culture with passion and aggression.

Wow that car is a piece of shit now! They should sell it for scrap.

It makes me kinda sad to see that car looking so horrible now :( That car brings me nice memories, not Just BOBD or Holiday videos, they arrived to the VMAs 2005 in that car, right? Good times.

Why sell it for scrap?! I completely disagree! Someone should fix it up and restore it. It's a classic car, it deserves much more.

I feel like they could auction it off for charity and make a decent amount of money

Win a Green Day bundle:

Would be so much better if they offered the boom box and tapes too.

Here's a cool competition from Nova Rock Festival in Austria! Make a video about Still Breathing, share it on the Nova Rock Facebook page and win a trip to see GD in Berlin on Jan 19th (with flight from Vienna). It doesn't say that only Austrians can participate, so go ahead!! img_3878.png

Top ten alternative Christmas tunes

2. GREEN DAY – XMAS TIME OF THE YEAR

Even though Revolution Radio was heralded as the triumphant return of gods Green Day in October, the almighty musicians actually released an under the radar single just in time for the holidays last December. Entitled “Xmas Time of the Year”, it showcases a seductively pleasant assemblage of affable riffs, delicate drums and affecting vocals, all of which coalesce to create a composition that’s as warm as it is rousing.
