18 albums that turn 25 this year
1990 Lookout!

"39/Smooth" - Green Day / Can you believe it’s been 25 years since Green Day released its debut album? No singles were released from “39/Smooth” and none of the tracks appeared on the band’s 2001 “International Superhits!” collection, making it a mostly unheard gem. The band was chosen for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year and if you’ve got an original pressing of this one on cassette, it proves you were there from day one.

That Hot Topic shirt is totally tacky and tasteless. They should take it out of the store. IMO

I do like the new Welcome to Paradise t-shirt that HT put out, so at least one shitty shirt is balanced by a good one.
I kind of want to buy the Beej shirt when it goes on super clearance for a couple dollars (because lets face it, the only people buying it will be for the irony or out of confusion) because of how absolutely tasteless it is. The general public wouldn't have any idea about its meaning anyway, and I'd probably wear it to wash my car or something.

If there was a Hot Topic near me I'd buy one. People around would get the irony. (and hopefully wouldn't joke about me and smashed Beej too much.)

Do they ship internationally? I would have thought so.

Find someone in American to buy it and ship it to you. I've done it before, saved so much.

Ugh, why couldn't I be my age now in the early 90s? I would kill to be a part of Green Day's popularity during the Dookie/Insomiac years. :( anyone that got to see them during that time are incredibly lucky!

Also, can't believe it's been 25 fucking years since my favorite Green Day album was released. Almost as old as I am. ;) Such a fantastic record; one that showed how talented Green Day was from the very beginning. This album will always have a special place in my heart. <3

I remember hearing that song and seeing the video back in the day and loving it so much. It was and still is one of my favorite songs.

VH1 Classic "That Metal Show" co-host Eddie Trunk echoed Sixx's sentiments, telling the New York Daily News last month: "How can you have a Hall Of Fame where it takes KISS, RUSH and Alice Cooper twenty years to get in, but GREEN DAY and GUNS N' ROSES go in on first ballot but it DEEP PURPLE doesn't get in."

Kiss? Rush? Lmao. Those guys sound butthurt

What that means is that Nikki Sixx is pissed that he is not in.

Shadowbox Live has snapped up the rights to become the first central Ohio troupe to produce American Idiot, the Green Day rock musical.

The company will present the show from Feb. 12 to April 26 in its Brewery District space, 503 S. Front St.

The musical, about three working-class guys struggling with life in post-9/11 America, was adapted from the 2004 album by Billie Joe Armstrong, lead singer of Green Day, and author-director Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening).

It includes songs from the Green Day album 21st Century Breakdown, too.

Two years ago, a touring production of American Idiot played the Palace Theatre in Columbus.

When a thief stole a man’s dog Mochi along with a laptop and bicycles, the owner took to social media and recruited hundreds of people to help track her down, but none more connected than Green Day’s front man Billie Joe Armstrong.

“To me it’s a kidnapping, that was my child, and it was taken away from my house,” said David Baker.

It began with a few tweets and Instagrams, and paper fliers, and then an outpouring of support from skaters, who wrote, “Skateboarders can do anything, let’s help.” From there, Armstrong (who also lives in the East Bay) found it, and re-posted it, and then an army of search crews arrived.
