Christian's Inferno! Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 I just think for an album that has 12 songs, you can't afford to have mediocre tracks. OW falls into that category for me. For the trilogy, it was ok because there were 37 songs, even if half of the songs were complete crap, we still would get loads of quality material. OW doesn't sound like GD to me. Even the softer songs that GD have done like Good Riddance, Whatsername, LNOE, songs like that sound like GD. This doesn't really. Billie Joe doesn't sound like he normally does on this song. After Forever Now, you think "wow what a great track". Then OW comes on and you're just thinking "Oh..." It doesn't feel like it even belongs on this album. It would've been fine just for the movie. I'd prefer if it wasn't on the album

Well just that it was an acoustic song like that. But Billie Joe's vocals don't sound like they normally do

I just think it's a pretty bad song

Fair enough. It's just my opinion. Not trying to force you to dislike the song. If you like it, good for you. It's just not for me

It's just not for me I never said you were and could careless if you think the song sucks ass, but saying they are trying to recreate something when they not even the same song like a remix or part two of I still will continue to think is silly. Just skip the song on future play throughs is my friendly advice.

Haha same. It's a kind of love/hate process: 1) You love GD 2) You notice a thing that you hate about them 3) You feel wired because you're loving and hating them at the same time 4) You think that's cool Therefore 5) You love GD And it starts again. Ok you're not the only wired one here...

Reading some of my old posts where I seem excited about EVERYTHING, and realize it was mostly because I didn't want people to think something wasn't interesting.

When I listen to my GD playlist, there's quite a lot of songs I'll turn the volume up really loud for, but there's a select few that a) I turn the volume down or b) I don't pay much attention to it, and like you said, I am overcome with guilt each and every time and I have no idea why!

St. Jonny Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Garbage. That is just harsh. I'd say maybe 10%.

Hero_Of_The_Hour Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Oscars?
Thatsername Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 OW is also my least favourite track on RevRad, although I don't think it's bad. Never been a big fan of Good Riddance, too, and I absolutely hate Amy (I don't feel guilty saying this ), so maybe I just don't like the acoustic songs so much. It's definitely not Oscar-worthy, but I do like the lyrics. "Baby I don't have much, but what we have is more than enough" is a really nice Christmas message
RougeRogue Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 With some consideration, I actually think it could be Oscar worthy if it was attached to a critically acclaimed film rather than an average indie film. But I don't need it to be. The movie is fine, I love the song, and that's enough for me.
