And those were some absolutely KILLER songs right there, better than some album cuts! I don't care too much for "That's Alright", and "State of Mind" is okay, but the others are way up on my list of favorite Green Day songs. Green Day's "A Quick One" is one of my favorite things on God's green earth. It's musical heaven for me, BLEEPIDY BLEEP IT'S FREAKING GOOD! I'd like to see 2 or 3 from RevRad but I don't think I'll be satisfied.
That Dude Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Green Day have done a pretty good job with their b-sides. 1039 and Kerplunk had tracks added to the end and Warning was the only album to not have any b-sides attached to singles I think. The Trilogy had the Demolicious album released, but I felt like if the circumstances were different we would have gotten more. They are definitely being careful how they promote RevRad, so maybe it won't get any. I'd be thrilled to see 1 -3 come out eventually but who knows what they will do. Green Day do like holding onto songs for future use so maybe that's why we haven't been getting them like we used to. Shenanigans was a GREAT compilation, it could have been a hit record if they pushed it. That's my best theory. Green Day don't write filler. Green Day keep the A-sides coming, so might as well save them for later. Rewrite them, rework them - make a girl change from Gabriella to Amanda and keep on trucking.

Todd Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Warning had lots if B-sides. Scumbag, Don't Want to Know if You Are Lonely, Outsider, Maria, and Brat and 86 live
Dakke Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 There's one rumored bonus track called 'True colors' which showed up briefly on a Brazilian site, but the mention was pulled before the release of Revolution Radio. I do think Billie had more songs written for this album than the 12 we got. Troubled Times was only at the end added to the record. I do suspect there are more songs in the genre of Bouncing Off the Wall and multiple songlets which were part of various iterations of what has become Forever Now ('I'm Freaking Out', Forever Now's first part, was probably originally titled Edge of the World). Maybe some of them will be released as part of future albums or compilations, like Drama Queen (21CB, released on Tré!) and Youngblood (21CB era, released on RevRad) were.

Mato Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 ^ yeah, I'd like to know more about that as well. Youngblood has always sounded (structurally and even production wise) like it came from 21CB, and I like that.

Maddie86 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 in regards to Warning's B-sides... all of those were recorded after Warning was, they're not from the same studio session, so as far as we know they only recorded those 12 songs for Warning, there's no leftovers from that session (just my theory anyways). Minority was the first single and the extra tracks on that were from live shows, then Warning and Waiting came out as singles with songs from a new recording session that was done at Billie's home studio. It's great how active they were back then, recording and releasing new songs months after they released a new album, I wish they still did that! They have a month or so before they leave for tour again, I doubt they'll record any new songs for b-sides though during their downtime. One recent interview said that Billie has some songs brewing and that he hopes it doesn't take another 4 years for them to release a new album. It'd be cool if with all this touring they do what they did on the 21st CB tour where they write on the road and jam with Jason again

It'll take 3 years and 364 days, but not 4 years. lol 2017 is nearly upon us and we're still in the midst of promotion for RevRad. Hopefully it's just getting started (the last Idiot single was one year, one month and one week after the album release!) The end of 2019 would be a good time for a new album, but I'm think 2020 is more realistic.

Their past releases have all been unique in both musical and lyrical style to a lesser or greater extent, so there are many things to take in mind when speculating about the release date of a future record.
21st century idiot Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 They probably don't want to overload us with songs. They have done b-side releases all the way up to this album (not as many during the trilogy period for obvious reasons ) so I'm sure we'll get a few in the future.
Guest Hdbdnfn Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Didn't they say the bang gang single would come with a beside but didn't it already release

Despite my head being in the gutter, I instantly thought of it being a blend of "BANG BANG" and "Rusty James" for some reason. ".....and your heart can't even ba-ang when it doesn't even bang." I just wrote the entire thing in my head. Back to "Still Breathing" I go.

tresexy101 Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 If you don't think Billie Joe and the gang don't have a ton of extra songs that could be released than you're trying to get out of a corn maze in freezing cold weather with no ear muffs. And everyone loves muffs. GD fans just need to be patient and wait until the songs get leaked or released. I have a source (ouija board) that tells me there are at least 69 songs BJ has written and have been recorded. The band will release an album of B sides or just release a song here or there. Illuminati. October 2017 is the end of mankind. Live it up while you can.
