It was distracting me as I was thinking he would either accidentally spit it out or choke lol while singing. My thoughts exactly!!!

madafaka Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I guess I understand why they are nervous playing Still Breathing. I've yet to hear a live performance of it that lives up to the recorded version. The verse is unusually low for Billie Joe's vocal range, and the chorus is unusually high. Which means that he struggles throughout most of the song live, which doesn't make for a great performance.

It's funny how the give me head line wasn't censored last night and that is on earlier than Cordon, and tonight we had the nice beep. Tré's line before their performance was legendary. James asked the guys where they were when they found out they were going to get inducted into the RRHF and he said he was at Wal-Mart trying to find a record that had fuck in it. Proving that although highly unlikely moving forward that Tré's random quotes would make a carpool karaoke that much better!! Right? I was thinking the same. You'd think Jimmy would've been censored both because of the earlier time, like you said, and maybe because ABC also broadcasts Jimmy, like the AMAs. But maybe ABC is more lenient after midnight (like NBC is with SNL ... the naughtier sketches magically time out with 12:00.01 ). I think CBS is more conservative with their standards and practices, though. I watch Stephen Colbert nightly and he regularly makes jokes about how much he is censored on CBS and given that this wasn't just after midnight, but after 1 a.m. at that, they must be stricter than ABC!

Yes out of the 3 major network ABC is the strictest when it comes to standards and practices during daytime and evening time slots after 10pm they are more lax on some stuff
belinda jane Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Has nothing been uploaded to YouTube yet? I haven't looked through the previous pages. Sorry, haha.

belinda jane Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 That video is saying it's not available on YouTube and I can't find anything else from the late late show on there. Hmmmm.
Stewe Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Has the interview happened before the performance or viceversa ?
UNICORN VOMIT Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I didn't find the interview cringey - I thought BJ justified why he did the chant & moved on. Tre is the best - on the red carpet at the amas he said boner & now this.
petros Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 And that's why I didn't want them to do the karaoke thing. Wow that dude really ruined the joke tre did with his fake laughing.
DeJennsitized Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I like James Corden. I think the way he directly asked all three of them a question was cool.
kripack Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Fuck, so they didn't air Still Breathing? Bang Bang was awesome though
spark in the night Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I fucking hate late night shows. They are just so cringe to watch. Who the fuck is this guy with that fake laugh? I like Mike's answer though #growingupwithgreenday

I dislike James Corden but yeah the interview was fine, I also thought that was cool. Billie having to explain the AMA thing was kind of awkward but he did it well. And I don't mind how many times they play Bang Bang on TV, it's a really awesome song for that setting.
stories and songs Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 The only thing that was awkward about the interview was that they were standing. That makes me uncomfortable, lol. But the guys did good. Billie, honey, I'm really afraid you're going to choke on your gum one day.

It was a little bit, but he got to explain where the chant came from which was cool! And then they played Bang Bang which was a good move in retrospect, after talking about the AMA thing.
gnash Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 James Corden once literally belly-bounced me out of the way in London. That is all.
PursuitOfEpicness Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I love Tre so much, "trying to find a song with the word fuck in it, and i couldn't!"
RedundantIdiot Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Although I enjoyed watching it, I'm gutted they didn't do the carpool karoke
Cheap Escape Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 The mix of this recording was better than some of the other recent television performances - I am pleased.
