All of my pit experiences in large venues have been much more relaxed than in the small, probably because there's more space and places to bail out if things do get nasty. I've had the same experience. Couldn't have found a happier and nicer crowd than at the arena show and stadium show I went to. Very small club show also had an excellent crowd, but I did find at the smallish in between ones (3000-5000 people) people in the pit area could be somewhat hostile and it was a lot more intense. I'd still always go for standing because I enjoy being in with the crowd jumping around and stuff, and you can always move further out of the pit to a quieter area if it gets to be too much. Does mean more of a gamble with having a good view though. I can see the upside to both places.
tresexy101 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Stop whining...I go to sports events all the time and have to deal with rival teams fans. Take a kickboxing class or put your hair in a bun if your gonna be dumb. Ya, that rhymed. Sorry to be so insensitive but this does not deserve it's own thread. Look at my warning points... I've tried to start a thread or two. One more dumb thing I do and I'm done. That's why I'm not voting for Trump.

Zelda Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I had some bitch threaten to punch me in the face when the mosh pit behind us caused me to slam into her a few times. Managed to scoot away a bit, but then got slammed into her again so I started saying "look I'm sorry, it's not me, it's them, I'm just trying to get away!" Then she did a complete 180 and said "it's okay, come here!" and held me close for the remainder of the song, occasionally saying "it's okay, I got you" she slowly loosened her grip after that so I took that as my cue to move a bit farther away. It was a fun concert, but that was an odd experience.
mies Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I accidently hit my sister at a green day concert! I was jumping an waving with my hands and she was standing behind me. I dind't realize untill after the concert her nose was blue and I felt teribble But I never had a bad experience at a green day concert or any other
TheUnforgiven Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 You guys wouldn't last one night at Pre-Fest in Ybor City, FL or Fest in Gainesville, FL lol I've been to many, many shows and the unspoken rule is to fight for your spot but don't be a total dick. I waited almost 9 hours at the front of the line for the DC show, and still had to accept the fact that getting front row wasn't possible because of the wall of big dudes being there along with contest winners. There was one girl in the crowd who was clawing at me and my new friends I made in line, and we linked arms together to keep her out. She was nasty and elbowing our heads and ended up kicking my buddy's leg in and it disjointed it. Another dude and I had to support him up with our shoulders for the rest of the show. We made sure to let the crowd surfers drop on her consistently so everyone in the real front could enjoy the show and she got what was coming to her. There are a lot of assholes at shows and sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. That's the name of the game.
The Grohl Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 For me I think the rowdiest a GD concert has gotten was me punching the glasses off my face because I pumped my fist in the air Luckily there was little people around so they didn't get smashed. But at the Thrill Kill Kult show I got kicked in the head. It hurt like a mother, but a dude next to me saw and made sure I was okay.
Yaz. Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Last year I saw Real Friends at a tiny underground show in London and an absolute tool decided to dive off the amp by the front of the stage where I was standing. feet first. I essentially got totally knocked out from the impact and the last thing I remembered was the rest of the people around letting him drop to his arse because they could see what happened. I was very lucky as I had got concussion and severe bruising on my temple, it could have ended much worse. A girl had grabbed me as I lost consciousness and sat me on the stage until I came round. I'm always grateful to the people like that at shows - it should be a safe space for everyone to go to escape the real world for a few hours. Plus, I had an insane shiner the next day
