All of sudden I feel very young, but no one my age likes Green Day and in my defence I've been a fan since I was like 5 (and that's the truth).

Same here! None of my friends are really into Green Day, which is a shame (although there's a few that know the more known GD songs - AI, Basket Case, Good Riddance, Boulevard, Holiday, 21 Guns etc)

It's so great to just be able to talk about anything and everything GD (with people who actually listen!!!)

Trust me, it's probably better being older than younger when talking about bands like Green Day since people will accuse me of being a fake fan just because I wasn't born when they first started making music

I feel the same! At first when I joined GDC (I make it sound like it was years ago but it was two days ago) I didn't want people to know my age since I thought I wouldn't be taken seriously, but after talking to everyone in this thread I love this fanbase more than ever.

You definitely won't get that from me and most likely the vast majority of people on here. I love that younger people like them, my son and niece are coming with me to see them in Leeds and they're 13 and 15. How long you've liked a band has nothing to do with being a fan, especially when they were around before you were even born, its not like you can help that
