Most over hated Green Day songs

I have a few songs I don't like.

1: Strangeland (Tried listening to it multiple times just couldn't get into it)

2: Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) (Yes. I'm probably the only fan who doesn't like that song. It's so overplayed. I just don't like anything about it.

3: Best Thing In Town

4: Sweet Children

5: Little Boy Named Train (First, I hate the title, second I just couldn't get into the song)

Regarding Nightlife. I actually really like the song. It's different.

For me, I'd actually really enjoy seeing Hitchin' a Ride at a show! The solo would be so awesome! And I totally agree with you - I still think KFAD (even though it's been played quite a bit over the years) is as entertaining as ever!

I've seen HAR twice, honestly once is enough. I'd be happy not seeing it again.

They should do Nice Guys Finish Last a lot more. And definitely keep Scattered in there!

Yeah definitely! I'd like to see more Nimrod "rarities" eg Scattered, Redundant and Prosthetic Head. Although I would absolutely LOVE a live version of Haushinka! (I think there's a live video of them performing Haushinka from the Dookie era, but I would love to see it on this tour!)

I'd say after seeing it a couple of times already, it'd probably be nice to see perhaps a less-played Nimrod track, maybe Prosthetic Head or something like that?!

Is Nightlife really over hated?

Whenever it gets criticism (like on this thread) the number of people saying they like it outnumbers the haters by far.

Personally I hate nightlife. I think if the 1990s BJ heard that song he'd hate it too and think it was really shit. He'd probably tell you to fuck off and spit on you if you said it was Green Day in 20 years time.

Well this is a GD forum. You would expect that a lot of us like a GD song. But it is definitely hated on much more than any other GD song

maybe 1990s Billie would do that. maybe. but it's 2016 now. that's right - 26 years have passed. it's 2016 Billie now.

For me it's probably Kill the DJ. I don't get it! It's a great song, definitely one of the best from the trilogy. Also, I've seen quite a few people on YouTube diss Dominated Love Slave. I think that DLS is a quality song!!

Kill the DJ was a love at first listen for me :P

I have never been crazy about this song tbh... but still, would be stoked to hear it live.

The song I can't get behind is JAR. I don't know why; I just don't like it. That was one I wished they kept off the setlist.

Know Your Enemy. It's repetitive, but it's not that bad. It's really fun in concert. Its larger tie-in to 21CB as a whole is my favorite aspect of that album and is largely ignored, which is a shame.

Yeah I don't know why people dislike that song so much. I love it a lot and like you said, it's super fun at shows.

Yeah and tbh I like the musical version a lot too. I looooove the blending of "nothing wrong with me"

Plus also Tony Vincent :eyebrows:

In fact, I will state right now that I like the musical version better.

I said it. Done.

How the FUCK do you not like JAR?  Awesome tune in my opinion and I certainly respect yours despite what I typed.  Oh my gosh, a GD fan doesn't like JAR.  Trump is gonna fucking win.  I really am watching the world end.  Thank goodness dogs only live to be about 10 years old.  I don't want Capone to be alive in 4 years and see this world end.  I must spoil him.

I know, I'm a rarity! But that song just never appealed to me. Not sure why. Even after hearing it live I still don't care for it.

I've never been a fan of that title. I feel like Billie could have come up with something a lot better if he had tried.

Hitchin' A Ride seems to get very little attention here. I think it's one of Green Day's most dynamic songs. Every band member shine in it, and it' not your standard Green Day song.

The only Green Day song i dislike is Nightlife ithink. Cant think of others i really dislike.  There are some i think are over rated and over played, yeah :P

I feel Christians Inferno wouldnt get as much hate if the chorus wasnt just saying Whoa, Christians Inferno 58849578 times :P

I love pretty much all they've put out, though I do skip Last Ride in a lot of the time on Nimrod but thats moreso me not being super big on instrumentals in general :P

Hold On - from Warning.  Very catchy and gives me hope when I don't remember why my gf is mad at me from the night before.  I always tell her, 'hold on' hun, what happened?  She absolutely knows I love Green Day and knows that when I drink a lot I black out.  She knows the song very well because I kinda force the bands that I like down her ear canal like I slide my johnson in her um...   ya, anyways, she's into hip hop or R&B and stuff.  But when I'm driving, it's NOFX, Pennywise, GD, Less Than Jake, Suicide Machines (First album) etc.  When it comes  to getting my noodle wet, I don't mind Beyonce.  Can't believe Beyonce has an effect on my life.

Love the lyrics on Tight Wad Hill, how can anyone hate that shit?

I find it the least interesting song on Insomniac. Not hate-worthy though

Yeah it's alright but I don't really get why people love it loads. Pretty average for me.

I agree, one of their best and brilliant live too. I haven't seen it hated on as a song but I have seen the live performance hated on and find that ridiculous!
