Also, this sort of just occurred to me, but is it confirmed that Mike and Tre are actually performing these songs? Sounds like Green Day to me but I'm not too positive. I don't actually think it is them? The songs are in the credits and it doesn't say performed by Green Day, I think Les Skunks is credited (but I was only looking to see if GD were credited and they weren't)

dudley dawson Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 When, if ever, will we get studio quality versions of these tracks?
htlecso Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Here's there's a much higher quality version.

I'm totally in love with this song. It's got a dreamy summer vibe about it. I love Devils Kind too! Damn I wish Les Skunks had recorded an album...would have been better than Revrad I was reading the lyrics to Body Bag to the timing of Devil's Kind and it totally fits.

The lyrics of Body Bag are sad though so they wouldn't fit that kind of upbeat song. I actually think they're excellent lyrics and love the imagery he uses of his soul on a slab and his life in a body bag as though his life is essentially over it's so terrible yet he says "Sometimes it ain't so bad".

I clicked on it thinking it was the lyrics to Devil's Kind but then as I was reading it I thought "this isn't right at ALL!" but kept going. You should try it. There are lots of musically upbeat songs with sad lyrics. It works.
dudley dawson Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 When are we getting studio rips of these damn it???
Alan86 Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Didn't Billie say there was no studio versions of these, they just recorded the band playing live and that's the versions they used in the movie.
Q-Man Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Didn't they say a soundtrack would be coming out at some point? I wonder if that is still happening.

I could have swore i saw an interview with Billie saying it was just the band they had in the movie, and the recorded the band live. Quote INTERVIEWER: When they cross over into acting, a lot of musicians or singers don’t want to take a movie where they have to sing in it, and it’s the same for a lot of dancers. Did you have any hesitation about doing a role like this and blurring those lines, or was that part of the appeal? ARMSTRONG: That was part of the appeal because I was pretty adamant about wanting to play live. What I see in a lot of music movies, or rock ‘n’ roll movies, that feature a band is that they’re lip-synching. I was like, “Let’s just go in there and do it live.” I think that’s the big difference between this one and a lot of the other rock ‘n’ roll movies. They’re playing to tape, but Fred Armisen and I were actually in a rock ‘n’ roll bad together. I also really related to the character, especially when it came to the parenting part. I’m a pretty klutzy parent. My wife is the CEO of the family. I’m the fun guy, just trying to make it up as I go along, and that’s what the character is, too. https://www.google.ie/amp/collider.com/billie-joe-armstrong-ordinary-world-green-day-interview/amp/

Yosuke Hanamura Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 It seems as of right now, the closest we're going to get to a full quality recording of these songs, is a Lossless 5.1 audio rip from the Blu-Ray of Ordinary World.

unextraordinarygirl Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 I don't like Devil's Kind. The music and lyrics are just meh.....nothing special. I expected it to be harder sounding I guess.

Marki. Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 I like Devil's Kind - I agree that it's nothing that special, but I really enjoy listening to it.
