  1. I don’t think I can remember a happier BJ era. 🥲 He seems like he’s genuinely in a really good place.

  2. I partially agree. Right now, I think Saviors is definitely the better album, BUT the vibe of the RevRad era is just unmatched. Back then, it was just about the new album. No anniversaries, no tours with three other bands, just Green Day and their new songs. Saviors is such a great album, it’s too good to be used as a vehicle to promote the anniversaries of Dookie and AI. Of course the tour hasn’t started yet but I doubt we’ll get to hear as many new songs as we did during the RevRad tour. But I don’t want to sound grumpy. It’s an awesome album and it’s still great to see the band in action!

  5. I like the album cover . Their most iconic cover with silly scribbles and a vomiting rainbow unicorn on it, I don't care that's fucking funny. The fact it's Billie's doing makes it even funnier. Graffitia, Take the Money and Crawl, Stab You in the Heart, Junkies On a High, Fire Ready Aim, Father of All... are top tier songs to me and I don't dislike any of the others. I listen to themb all the time when I'm running. I just wish it had been more songs so it felt more like a full album.

  6. I've been catching up with Green Day this week, since I kiiind of stopped following after Demolicious came out. I'm surprised by the amount of hate this album gets? Personally, I love it! It's super fun to listen to, and Fire Ready Aim and Junkies on a High must be one of my all time favorites from them. I found FOAM extremely enjoyable. Whereas Saviors was a grower and it felt a little "meh" at first listen, FOAM was instant love for me.

  7. I'm fairly certain this set list was because it was a private party and strictly speaking for gaming fans not GD fans

  8. They already told us to play AI and Dookie front to back + songs from saviors and old classics. Maybe they‘ll play HM Sets for Festival Shows but they won‘t play these setlists at their own shows
    3 points
  9. One should not stress about what Green Day is playing on a venue that is not full of their audience. There's zero percent chance that this Hella Mega setlist is the norm once Saviors Tours kickstarts.

  10. Looks like their steaming #’s are holding steady! Keep it up everyone. I really want to see this album have legs. It deserves it. This album is far too good to suffer a fate of fading away out of the Top 200 after just a few weeks. It would be amazing to see it hangout in the Top 200 all year while they’re on tour.

  11. Can gladly say after nearly a month this album is still really strong for me. The only skips for me are Father to a Son and Living in the 20s occasionally

  13. I absolutely hated this album when it came out, but I'm not even sure why now. Maybe it was the cringey promo? Took a while to grow on me? The state of mind I was in at the time? I don't know. Anyway, I actually like it now. I might even say I... love it! Whilst it did subject me to the only Green Day song I actually hate (What Else Would Junkies Be On?) and I don't care for Teenage Teenager or that part in Oh Yeah, the rest is good. Maybe I'm even being unfair to Junkies On a High, because I actually love the lyrics. I just don't like the sound of it. The title track grew on me as soon as I heard them soundchecking it in Seville. It was a lot of fun live and when I actually paid attention to the lyrics, I realised it's as deep as any other serious Green Day song. I'm a sucker for anything about The Dark Side of Fame™, so why wouldn't I love it? Lying in a bed of blood and money! Meet Me On the Roof is good enough to be one of my top 10 Green Day songs. It's a bop and in the typical Green Day style, addresses a dark subject (the side effects of fame on the narrator and his relationship) with a tune so cheerful you wouldn't even know it's a dark song. Stab You in the Heart and Sugar Youth are also bops and the latter is another one that's deeper than it seems at first. "I don't wanna be a Romeo" could be mocking being a heartthrob, but it could also mean "I don't want to die." Take the Money and Crawl sounds brash, but it's actually quite vulnerable from the title to lines like "I'm a nervous wreck, enough to make you sick" and "do I dare say please when I'm on my knees?" It's the most direct portrayal of fame on the album. And it's a banger. Graffitia is a great song that seems like it belongs on another album, but maybe it doesn't. They've spent nine songs lamenting the problems of the rich and famous, and now they're looking outwards. The cover is bloody awful and I'm not saying it has some deep meaning, but considering the theme of the record, I do think it has a meaning – a cheap piss-take of the band's fame. They could have found themselves a beautiful, fitting piece of art that was actually deep and might have helped people view the album differently, but... we got the unicorn. Anyway, yeah, I like the album now. It surprises me to see so much hate for it on here because it got a lot of love when it first came out. There were people proclaiming it was their favourite Green Day album and that it saved their lives. You couldn't voice disappointment without someone getting defensive. I guess people decided it was actually shit as it grew on me.

  14. @Rumpelstiltskin2000 Agree. This was more like a corporate gig than a concert (I think I saw it was invite only?). That’s why they didn’t promote it at all online, and that’s why the setlist is all greatest hits. It shouldn’t be compared to a normal show!

  15. This album continues to be solid as we near a month out. FOAM was boring to me a few days in. Saviors has a lot of re-listen value and I think it’s due to a) good songs b) but also songs that have some variety in them. A lot of Saviors songs aren’t predictable after the first chorus and change things up even in small ways to keep it interesting. Nothing wild but even take a short song like 1981 that changes up the instrumentation at times to keep it feeling fresh.

  16. Still not bored with this album. Good sign! BUT! Personally I love RevRad more. Probably because of all the thing the came with it. The tour with like 7 single from the album played live. That was Green Day only with Against Me! opening for them. They came to my city. Now with Saviors the album is good. But everything is different. This time I can't see them because they only comes to Toronto or Montréal (MTL being a festival so no AI and Dookie in full). Ticket prices are ridiculous. They have like 4 bands opening before them.

  17. I hope this won’t be the setlist for the festival shows. I know they’re not playing AI and Dookie in full, but I really want to hear some Saviors songs.

  21. Hi everyone! Man it's been a looong while since my last post. I hadn't been listening to Green Day too much for the past, what? 10 years? But these past couple of days I was feeling frustrated with my life and listening to love pop songs just wouldn't cut it. I wanted to RIOT! So I instantly remembered Green Day and felt like listening to some Insomniac and Dookie to let it all out. After a while I really wanted to listen to the newer stuff (post Revolution Radio) to find out if they were still as good as I remembered and BOY was I pleased! I absolutely love this album!! Personal favorites are TADIKM, Bobby Sox, Goodnight Adeline, Corvette Summer, Suzie Chapstick, LIT20s. As a gay fan, I was elated to hear the lyrics to Bobby Sox for the first time . My only gripe with Saviors is that, at certain times, some of the vocal melodies feel a bit forced (i. e. the final inflection on the phrase "Hit me with power chords" on Corvette Summer). It's like I'm singing along and Billie suddently... overcomplicates the melody? Not sure if I'm getting my point accross here. Anyway, I've been listening to Green Day non-stop the whole week and I'm ecstatic to be back. It feels like finding a part of myself that was long lost. It feels like home. P.S. I'm giving myself a break because I don't want to burn myself out with this record. But I hope I can do my little review with my scores for each song in the coming days.

  26. Hopefully when the smoke clears and we can legit talk about Album 15, Green Day will be in a place where they can simply promote new music. While we all have our favorite albums, I don't think the majority of people want a huge celebration for any of the others. Green Day should refine their setlist with a hits spanning every album and also 4-5 new songs each time around. I'd say 15 massive hits, 4 new singles, and 2 or 3 whatever non-single they want to do.
