I think out of all the anniversary box sets (not counting Insomniac), this one might be my least favorite, but I still enjoyed it. The demos are cool and have a rougher sound to them, but I'm kinda sad we didn't get more from this era, songs like "Waiting" and the title track not having demos are also kinda weird (maybe they never got demos recorded, who knows). The Otis mixes are cool, I hope they do something like this for future anniversary box sets too (like the "Uno Dos Tre" trilogy), the Otis mix of "Waiting" might be my new favorite version of the song. The 2025 remasters are also pretty neat, the songs sound a little cleaner, it's cool to hear this album get more polish and love. The live concert is cool to have, their Japan 2001 shows are awesome, but I noticed Billie's voice sounds a bit rough in this recording. Considering the concert the next day was the Shibuya-AX show, where Billie's voice was completely shot, I wonder if he was partially sick at this show too. Pretty interesting they chose this concert to include on the box set. I'm sad "Church on Sunday" and "When I Come Around" from this show got omitted for whatever reason, I guess their recordings of the songs got messed up or something. Hopefully the bootleg show of this show turns up so we can have the full thing available again. I hope the next box set will be 21st Century Breakdown or the Trilogy!7 points

Would you believe my painter showed me snippets that look very like this. He’s Polish and a pal of his shot some of this I believe, he was actually there for some of the shows!5 points

Billie's vocals on the Blood Sex and Booze demo are slightly creepy and I like it. The unintelligible words/shouting at the end is different lol, is he actually saying anything or just random sounds? Glow in the dark Warning man shirt for my brother's Christmas present just arrived 😊4 points

The front of the boxset box is what the cover of the album always should've been! Nice to see the warning man used properly3 points

Check out this brand-new 45-minute documentary about Green Day concert, which took place in post-communist Poland in Novbember 1991. It’s a record of memories shared by musicians, fans and above all - organisers. Great stories. Video down below; I hope the link works; if not - search by name. I never thought I would utter these words, but here we go: I kinda liked the saxophone during 2,000 Light Years Away.3 points

My $17 Amazon box set arrived today! I noticed that all the B-sides are mixed much quieter than the Shenanigans version. All the demos are like this too. Top is Outsider from the box set and bottom is from Shenanigans CD.3 points

This is such a deep discount even before the release date I wonder who decided to do this and why. Is it because the preorders did well or not well enough? Feels like a gift to fans in light of the current economy with layoffs and exploding healthcare costs. Much appreciated whatever the reason. I was a buyer at $49 (or whatever the original price was) and this almost seems unfair, like clearance prices, but not complaining when the cost of everything else in life is so high. I’ll take the win 💚3 points

The demos being so complete makes me curious what happened with Scott Litt as producer 2:41 of the Misery demo - "It's the bridge!"2 points

I think Nimrod was the only box set where they didn't lower volume on any of the tracks. Warning box set has all the demos, b-sides, and live album at half volume. The Warning remaster CD is the same volume as the original.2 points

Green Day will play as iHeartRadio ALTer EGO on January 17th at KIA Forum in Inglewood. This show will be broadcasted on iHeartRadio Rock and Alternative stations and on iHeartRadio.com https://www.instagram.com/p/DPyrZ0ZDO7l/?igsh=cTd6djVpYmxmNGhk1 point

Another half cooked move by reprise. At least otis mixes are cool and different, even if Waiting has rerecorded guitars. Demos are ok, but nothing more revealing. Sad1 point

starting to wonder if maybe Warning, Hold On, Waiting and Minority's demos were closer to the final release, hense why they weren't in the box1 point

It's Amazon's decision. They're probably selling it below their wholesale rate at a loss at this point, because Amazon is big enough to take the loss. They just want to make SOMETHING back. They do that if they're trying to offload inventory, so it tells me preorders (at least for the CDs) did not do very well. At least, that was the case when this sort of thing would happen at the label I worked for.1 point

Usually it will be stream on every iHeartRadio platform in audio and video. I have on my computer a Blink 182 show from 2020 and last year's Sum 41 show in video format. Will it probably US only, but a recording will surface1 point

I mean, it says 2025 remaster. But yeah, can't really hear a difference. What's even more interesting is that the original album on Apple Music has songs at high res lossless, 192 kHz, while the remasters are listed at 96 kHz. Anyone out there able to do a spectral analysis?1 point

Why is Suffocate on this even though it was a Nimrod session recording? Is it because of inclusion on Shenanigans?1 point

Only just started listening but right off the bat, I love how raw and punchy the guitar is on the Misery demo.1 point

You guys remember that terrible, horrible, no good MAX CREEPS thing that made us think it was a Green Day project but turned out to be some fart noises by a Guns N Roses guy and some rando. I remember.1 point

The songs that aren't already brick walled are more excusable... but the others just don't make sense lol how do they not have better audio sources in their vaults 😭1 point
-
Whoever is putting together the track lists and digging through the vault has been REALLY lazy for all of these release lol there's so many small issues This version of Macy's Day Parade def sounds all original, but could be re-recorded I suppose... I wouldn't be surprised if Waiting has re-recorded elements, like guitar feedback and some new little licks in the verses mainly. Something that no one has really mentioned is that Jackass has a lot of new or modified lyrics... they are just really quiet in the mix This is EXACTLY some of the issues I was gonna mention LOL Dookie has this too... but I cant remember if AI and Nimrod do too There's literally no reason to do this other than to make the listener have to turn up and down the volume... they aren't more dynamic or anything, just lowered 🙃1 point

I joked to my niece what I wanted for Xmas was a private Green Day show and she got excited and said she wanted to go with me! She said two songs she really likes are American Idiot and Brainstew. It's alllll coming together...she'll be a fan in no time 🤣1 point

Just ordered through Amazon. Used my Amazon Visa reward points so my price was basically $01 point

a bit ago i got my first green day cds: saviors, american idiot, 1039/sosh, nimrod, and dookie around june this year i thought of listening to all of them in full for once! i know streaming exists, but i like to listen to new albums on physical if i can. maybe tease with a few on streaming of course, just not the full thing since i have time, i'll finally be able to listen to them all especially without extra distractions around me with all the probably 100 apps on my computer compared to just a booklet, cover art, and back cover. and that also means i'll finally be able to listen to welcome to paradise without my friend bugging me all the time. unfortunately saviors will have to wait i only have so much time and stamina to just stare at billie's handwriting...1 point

The 99 Revolutions Tour shirt is the best one. The back: Also the commemorative 21st Century Breakdown Tour shirts for each show. And it's not a Green Day shirt, but a special mention for the Longshot tour shirt that I made1 point
-
i wouldnt be surprised if the warning box is inbetween the nimrod and dookie boxes in terms of content (so maybe 3CDs but only demos and no live shows) i wonder if Hold On is gonna get its alternative intro back1 point

An unplugged style show would be the perfect way for them to play warning in full. Since the album didn't the get the best reception, Green Day could really turn heads with a mind-blowing acoustic set, really showcasing how well written the songs are. Maybe a handful of those and then a regular tour.1 point
