  2. My bank account is happy that there are no other tours / shows in sight, but the rest of me is pretty sad. This tour was so much fun, with the traveling to new cities meeting so many fellow fans, and of course the shows themselves and the deep cuts we got

  3. Billie's posts about Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne are so sweet, love hearing him appreciate music so passionately

  4. Late as usual 🤣 I discovered that there’s a deluxe version of Awesome as Fuck on Spotify. I just listened to Christie Road live and it blew me away! OMG it’s so beautiful!❤️

  5. Luxembourg was pretty good. Access to water would have been nice because we were left waiting in the sun for quite a while, but the VIP host used tape to make sure we walked and entered the pit one at a time. I didn't go to Stockholm but heard it was the same. In Amsterdam we were forced to walk very slowly in single file but I don't know if that was down to the VIP host or the Ziggo Dome staff (who were amazing), because the VIP host never actually came back to the Calling All Saviors people 😅 She may well have instructed the staff to do that though. Overall I was impressed. I'm hopeful that although 237 Global ignored our complaint last year, they did actually take some of the advice on board. Still think they sold WAY too many though - the barrier was almost gone once the CAS people had gone in and as we've said many, many times, the front row shouldn't be exclusive to people who can afford VIP prices.

  6. Agreed. I didn't get VIP but when I saw the line outside the venues and those who had barrier, it was a lot of people I recognized from previous tours. Maybe influencers is a problem with other bands but I can't say that was the vibe I was getting from the shows I went to.

  7. This tour was the first time I had a „queuing experience“ and more contact with other fans, and it wasn’t until afterwards that I realized that this was a big part of what made it so special. So whenever they’ll be back, VIP tickets, queuing and WhatsApp groups again for me, please!🙂

  9. This is a long shot, but I'm currently in the process of writing a script for a video essay all about Warning. I found a supposed quote from Billie Joe Armstrong about the song Church on Sunday on multiple websites (Wikipedia, Green Day Wiki, and GeekStinkBreath. net), although I cannot find a direct source of this quote anywhere that is verifiable. I'll put the quote below, but I was curious if anyone had a direct source (interview, video) where BJA says this? Thanks! "Church on Sunday deals with compromises in the relationship I have with my wife. You have to compromise in every relationship. If you want it to work out you've always got to look ahead, have a future in front of your eyes and work on your relationships, no matter if they're with your partner or with friends. There will always be problems, but you've got to find solutions, or at least try to find solutions. I really hope there is a solution for every problem. "

  10. I do know of people who bought Welcome to Paradise VIPs for every show just to film, but I wasn't affected by that with Calling All Saviors tickets. Good vibes all around and I knew most of the people behind me in the queues as the same dedicated fans I've been seeing for years. Some of them had also bought WTP tickets for one or two shows. I still don't agree with VIP tickets but I don't think it's a guaranteed crowd killer.

  11. This was my experience at the Paris show last year. I had a normal ticket and queued all day, only to end up in second row behind people who I only heard singing along to major hits, who didn't jump even when Billie encouraged people to do so (rude!), and one lady who was just filming the whole show, but at least was nice to people around her, and one guy who told me off for brushing against him when waving my arms during Bohemian Rhapsody. That's what made me decide to go for VIP at least for the Vienna shows, because I thought those tickets will go to someone anyways, so better they go to me than to some casual listener who buys them because they're the only tickets left. For this tour though, the people in the VIP queue were largely the same people I had met in the normal queue last year: people following the band through different countries and different tours through the years. If these folks want to spend a lot of time recording the show, that would not be my choice (I normally only record during one or two songs, and always songs that I've heard live a handful of times before and are not among my favorites), but it's theirs and I respect that, and I'm even grateful for that, because I know someone will capture the cool moments. And really, if you see their videos afterwards you can hear them singing along and freaking out 😅 so they're not really made with that influencer mindset of having a perfect "instagramable" video I think.

  12. We should really give the band a break now. And our wallets too, haha. I think this whole VIP thing kind of ruins a lot of the excitement beforehand … but I guess we’ll have to get used to it for future tours. It’ll probably get even more expensive.

  13. Please we *need* this! Let there be a live album of the Dookie/AI anniversary/Saviors tour.

  14. For the folks that had VIP tickets to more shows than just Vienna, how was the experience at the other shows?

  15. Hey! I'm 34, still queuing, jumping up and down and singing along to every song, and no intention to quit in the foreseeable future, and in the queues I've met people much older than I am, who are also traveling to see Green Day, also queuing all day to get a good spot, and also super hyped to see their favorite band. Your enjoyment of the band and of live music doesn't have an expiration date.

  16. It looks like they had a good time. 🩷 I like that she included some stuff from Oslo. The boat trip looked fun. My bank account is sad too but I'm happy so. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 Missing the shows though. 🥺

  17. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DL4H7B0tc5o/?igsh=MXEybm10a2NpeWFrcg== Tre‘s wife Sara posted this video of the European tour on IG. Of course it’s mostly about her own experiences and family but there are some nice scenes with the band too.

  18. So inspirational. I remember when I was first getting into Green Day, and I watched Bullet In A Bible for the first time. Watching them put so much emotion into something really inspired me, and it still does today. I remember listening to the instrumental of Boulevard of Broken Dreams when the credits rolled at the end of Bullet In A Bible, and I remember thinking how inspirational and amazing this band is. I love Warning (the album) so much ❤️

  19. I‘m not the one who asked for it but I enjoyed reading the interview nevertheless. Thank you for posting the link! Fascinating to read the thoughts of 28 year old Billie. „We‘re not a political band.“ Well, that has changed…

  20. Excuse me 👵🏻 Green Day have been around for years so their fans' age is definitely all over the place. That's one of the things I love about them. We all got into them at a different age and for different albums. Getting older doesn't mean that you stop enjoying music and going to live shows. 💕

  22. I know! It's hard being back in an environment where "they played [insert here deep cut song title] 😭" is a sentence and a feeling that require a lot of explanation, which will just be received with a lot of eye rolls and/or confused expressions 😂

  23. i remember the old Idiot club for just a few bucks that let you get early entry etc not a fan of all the VIP FOS GoldenCircle stuff nowadays ... most of the shows i went too that had this kind of stuff have been pretty lame, you get all the influencers etc at FOS who constantly film, and the other fans back in the general standing area, but atleast its them who make some effort to jump around etc

  24. Definitely. 🩷 I wasn't queing for any of the shows. Same as the last tour before of the VIPs and it's definitely different. It's by no means similar standing next to someone who freaks out during 21 guns and next to someone who get's as excited as you when they play the deep cuts. Standing with someone you've been queing with all day at the barrier is sort of like "we made it". 😅👸🏼 My experiences with queing in Paris has been the worst. From people in the queue, the crowd and to security (all from handeling the queue/moving us to different places, letting us in, one guard physically held me back without any reason, I wasn't running or anything, refusing to give information in English and one security guard wouldn't give me water until a French man next to me asked in French. It was very obvious what I was asking for). Glad your experience was good. 🩷

  25. I was also right next to the mosh pit in Lux (to the left of it), and that one was a bit more stressful though. I had a family with a small kid next to me and I was stressed for the kid most of the show, trying to make sure no one would fall over her. I have heard similar comments regarding France from @solongfromthestars and @Rumpelstiltskin2000, but my very limited experience queuing here was the Paris and Lyon shows last year, and they were both quite nice! No issues during the queue, everyone was friendly and respectful. Towards the end of the day there's always someone who wants to cut to the front of the queue and complaining or making stuff up about the numbering system/fan organized queue (the classic "I've been here since 3 AM but I didn't realize everyone else around me had numbers, and no one has actually seen me at the queue at any point of the day" 🙄), but I've found that to happen in most places, I don't think it was any worse or more frequent at these shows.

  26. Thank you all so much!!! I appreciate it so much. This interview is so great, and even gave me more help on analyzing other songs on Warning.

  27. According to songmeanings.com it is from a NY Rock interview from 2000, it does include a link to the interview but the website appears to no longer be active.

  28. The sound might be good, but not the crowd consisting of casino players. If you have a look at the Wembley 2024 thread you will find a link posted today that shows that Wembley was recorded professionally. So this might get to be the live album…

  29. I feel the same way…🥲 But maybe Billie will spend some time in London with his son‘s family during their upcoming „free“ time. Not that far away then… https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLzfjs-uNTV/?igsh=OHl0Y3NlM2ZsdDNw And this cute video is perfect to make the sadness go away for a while!🥰

  30. You know I'm going to say it. It was amazing. It was surreal seeing them in front of me and not in front of a screen. I still have not realized this. They played every song I wanted to hear live after all these years not that whatever they played I wouldn't sing along and be jumping around. The summer here is very warm, we're talking about 40 degrees and we were there in the hot concrete since 3pm with the sun burning on our backs. But at the end of the day I was in the very front and could see our boys clearly so it was all worth it. I really had the time of my life.

  31. I wish Green Day could have been involved with the insane Ozzy/Sabbath show yesterday. Yungblud was repping the Punk side of things so that was nice.

  32. I know. It would be a mess. 🤭 That guy wasn't the brightest. Someone in line asked him if he had been to Anne Frank's house while in Amsterdam and he asked who, looked real confused and started to Google. At that point - mixed with people smoking cigarettes and weed I was like let me into the venue already. 😩 The moshpits find you! Embrace it.👸🏼 Honestly though, the mosh pits in Oslo looked harsh. Kudos to you. 💕 In Amsterdam no one was pushing where I was standing so I was dancing and had a cup of water infront of my legs without any problems. 🤭 Glad you had a good time. 🩷 This show had a good vibe in my experience too. Agreed! It's so much fun to stand next someone who get's excited when they play older songs and all of you sing a long to every word. Yuck. Sweaty dudes is the worst. Taking your shirt of in the middle of a crowd is just nasty. Same here. Don't want it to be over. 🥺 I like other bands too but there's something about bands that you've grown up with. I've read that bands you listen to as a teen can have a lasting impact on you and can also connect with you as you grow older. I feel like that's true for Green Day. I like a lot of other bands too and I go to several shows when they tour as well, but it isn't the same feeling. This fanbase is overall nice too. With other bands there's a lot of weird stuff going on both online and at shows - there's assholes in this fanbase too sure but it cannot be compared to other bands and their fans.

  35. Can't believe the Good Riddance thing has had this much attention. I posted my video thinking it was harmlessly funny, but I kind of wish I hadn't now because yes, it's been blown out of proportion. The kid is 14. It was very obvious he was nervous and there was possibly a language barrier. Even if it was intentional trolling, it was funny and didn't come across as anything more. Billie wasn't angry and I think most fans were glad it meant they got to hear Billie playing it 😂 It was also funny when someone held up a sign in Amsterdam and Billie read it, then said 'I'M playing Good Riddance.' Didn't we all do stupid shit at 14?

  36. I was curious to see how this show would go with the weather because it was so warm in the morning, but in the afternoon it wasn't hot anymore at all. I was actually a little cold during the show and had to go and change before I got my after show snacks. 😂 I got barrier on the side of the stage/by Jason. Wasn't the best spot but without getting VIP I was very happy with it. 😊 The golden circle section was smaller than the Vienna shows and it worked well in my experience. 2000 light years away was the highlight for me. 🩷 Loved that they didn't play Fuck off and it was fun with the changes they made with Revolution radio, Saviors and Look Ma, No brains. When Billie Joe said "I'm playing Good riddance tonight" with a smile on his face I laughed out loud. 😂 They all seemed very happy and smiled a lot. The more shows I go to the more I see how much I love this band. 💕 After this tour (this was the last show for me) I've realized that I need to start buying VIP tickets. Shows is so much better from front row and when you're around people who love the band as much as you it's a better experience. When I was waiting outside the venue I heard some talk about Good Riddance/Wonderwall and this one guy said "but he tell you which words to sing and which notes to play right". And I'm like what. If you don't know the lyrics why would you want to get up on stage in the first place. I laughed at the Wonderwall thing but come on. 😅

  37. The show was amazing! Saviors was just wow. Totally unexpected. When they started playing it I was a little confused for a moment. I thought "Wait, that's Saviors. Saviors?? Holy shit, SAVIORS!!!" 😅 For me that was definitely the highlight of the show. And I also loved that they played Revolution Radio ❤️ In total I'm very happy about the setlists at "my" shows (Waiting and Forever Now in Vienna, Saviors and Rev Rad in Amsterdam). And I'm not sad about Fuck Off not getting played yesterday 😅 Out of the three shows I went to, Amsterdam was my favourite one - the energy, the setlist, just everything ❤️

  40. Am I the only one who thinks that this whole Wonderwall “incident“ is being blown massively out of proportion? BJ laughed it off, Liam wrote a silly tweet about it, that’s it. Now I’m seeing all these posts that turn it into a something big, which it really wasn’t. Why do we have to take everything so damn seriously, and why do people get angry about literally everything? 😅
