I love the shirttttt â€ïž. Yesterday I said something about it in the concert thread. He needs to do that more often I don't have Instagram, so for me it says this post is "restricted for anyone under the age of 16." pfft . I don't have a YouTube account either, and when I tried to watch the Fuck Off music video it was "age restricted." I wanna seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee2 points

I did several advanced searches along the lines of: ["green day" "new song" before:2010], ["green day" "leaked song" before:2010], ["green day" "last night on earth" before:05/15/2009], and so on. The only instrumental I found was this, which I guess is clickbait for whatever that website was. I don't listen to Oasis so I can't judge whether that's even in the ballpark. I do wonder if this factors into your memory at all, maybe conflating two different things, since it is called Last Night on Earth. Also, barely related since it fits neither part, but this song is interesting because it doesn't seem to be online anywhere else based on searching the lyrics. All that said, search engines are pretty janky nowadays, inserting what they think you want to see even when you use the advanced options, so nothing definitive. Just what I found.1 point

They did it at Metro 2022 (coincidentally enough the last time Jar was played before last show) OK they did tease Lies once this tour, BUT 86???? DID THEY ALSO HAPPEN TO TEASE GREEN DAY, HAUSHINKA AND CONTRADICTON?1 point

What happened when Green Day headlined Download Festival 2025 Download gets a big âHeeeeeey ooooohâ as Green Day finally make their stunning, powerful, feisty headlining debut. June 14, 2025 Words: Emma Wilkes Itâs perhaps not unreasonable to ask why itâs only now that Green Day are headlining Download for the first time. Decades of success, an illustrious arsenal of era-defining hits, multiple albums considered staples of a rock fanâs coming-of-age years â they reach every cross-section of this audience, even where teenagers and their parents can watch them together. Still, after their best album in years in the form of last yearâs Saviors, and a foul-smelling political climate thatâs made American Idiot feel eerily more timeless, nowâs as good a time as any. After a rather long, multi-part introduction that features the usual a person in a bunny costume clowning around to Blitzkrieg Bop before being accosted by fake security, the Oakland trio are striking with purpose. Opening their set with the dynamite trio of American Idiot, Holiday and Know Your Enemy doesnât just feel like a flexing of their muscles, but very deliberate, especially when Billie Joe Armstrong, unsurprisingly, talks politics two songs in. âWe are slipping into fascism. Donald Trump and his administration are a fascist government,â he warns. âIt is up to us to fight back.â Aside from resurrecting an old âyou fat bastardâ chant to apply to Trump â which is yelled back with notable vehemence from the crowd â the world outside the confines of Donington Park doesnât overwhelm the show. Green Day are here for fun. It's an animated, all-killer set, where itâs rare for any time to go by without Billie Joe getting a âHEEEEEEEEEEY-OOOOOOOOOOH!â call and response going with the crowd. The hits everyone has committed to memory, from Basket Case, to Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, fit seamlessly with newer cuts Dilemma and One Eyed Bastard. Thereâs some cheeky curveballs, from rare gem J.A.R. to a surprise dusting off of the underrated title-track from 2016âs Revolution Radio. More than once, thereâs something that raises a chuckle, from the âBAD YEARâ blimp that flies above the stage to bassist Mike Dirnt and TrĂ© Cool making themselves useful for Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) by throwing rose petals over Billie. The real moment of the set to treasure, however, is a complete accident. Wake Me Up When September Ends, as profound and soul-stirring as it always is, gains another dimension when Billie sings, âHere comes the rain again,â and it begins to drizzle. Something about it feels perfect. Towards the showâs conclusion, Billie mentions that this is the last time Green Day will play in England for a while as the Saviors touring cycle wraps up. Theyâve signed off, if thatâs the case, on a masterful note. âEngland, you are in my heart forever,â he says. âYou will never get rid of me.â Good. https://www.kerrang.com/green-day-download-festival-donington-2025-headline-debut-billie-joe-armstrong-dookie-american-idiot1 point

This song is so catchy and absolutely slaps. I love the lyrics and Iggy "I Wanna Be Your Dog" reference This is super cute and the pink bow and skirt for "(I'm so hideous that) I'm beautiful" is adorable Edit: Just noticed this is fan made, I never would've known it wasn't official! It's great work1 point

This is really great news! When I first got into Green Day years ago while in my teens, I was fortunate to find a safe community here and on the Idiot Club, to discuss the band, their music, and ultimately form friendships that went well beyond that. I'm happy this place continues to exist and continues to offer to fans, old and new, that same sense of community that I found back then Thanks for working so hard to keep this place going, not just @Fuzz but also all the mods, admins and staff.1 point

Hello! Some of your staff may recognize me from Tumblr as greendaychick14. For 12 years (along with others from the Tumblr Green Day fanbase) I have grown up with GDC and GDA. We talk about you on Tumblr still! I no longer update my Tumblr everyday, and I haven't signed into here in at least 9 years! But what I can say is that I check Green Day Authority every week to see what's going on! Thank you so much for creating this community and to your staff for keeping the news up to date! I see Maria posts a lot on here and I just wanted to thank her for updating so often. This community means so much to me, and honestly this site is better and more accurate than Green Day's own site half the time lol. This was part of my childhood and now at 26 years old, after not signing in for 9 years, I am happy to say thank you for all the years of dedication you all put in. And thank you for being so dedicated that you guys were willing to pour your lives and money into making this stay. I hoped one day you would come back on, and I'm so happy I was right and that you did! Rage and Love â€ïž1 point

The return of GDA! Welcome back! The site has had its ups and downs over the years, but I'm glad GDA/GDC has persevered. I've been in and out of fansites throughout the years, but GDA is the only one that has stuck with me. This site and community mean so much to me. I've made friends here, gotten so much support when going through difficult times, and experienced the kindness of other fans. It still blows my mind how people here are willing to help out others and expect nothing in return. It's just fans helping out other fans. And I've received so much love, support, and advice here whenever I was struggling. I've experienced so many life events while on this site: bad breakups, losing loved ones, losing jobs, etc. But no matter how bad it got, GDC was there to help me through it. Sometimes it was venting with others. Sometimes it was just to gwak at Billie and take my mind off of things. This love and support help keep me going, especially in terms of writing. I've been writing independently for 10 years now, and it often feels like you're writing into a void. I've wanted to quit so many times, but just when I wanted to give up, I would get a comment from someone on GDC, and it'd make me smile. I felt good that at least one person took the time to read something I wrote. It inspires me to keep writing. It even helped me join the GDA team! I still remember someone on the board recommending me as a writer for the site, and it meant a lot to me. I'm filled with so much pride and joy everytime I log onto the site and see "GDA Staff" under my cursed profile picture. I remember when I first found the site, thinking the people who got to talk about Green Day all day were the coolest people in the world. I never thought that one day I would join GDA and be part of the cool kids Even though the site has been through some rough times, it's great to see the impact it has had on people. Fans still talk about the site and have good memories tied to it. I hope more folks will visit the site, whether they're new or returning users, because this truly is a special place. Long live GDA.1 point

Yeah this is a big part of what helped me decide to try and do more. There are some great communities out there, but reading comments on social media is depressing. Itâs hard on a platform like that where you canât moderate like you can on a forum. There are people doing good things out there, but I like the idea of something more tangible than just a feed to scroll past.1 point
