I don't even do GDA because of Green Day anymore. I'm not on any other fansites or pages. I do it just because I value the sites and the community so much. GDA and especially GDC were my 'places' when I was growing up, in the same way Gilman was to Green Day. That probably sounds sad but it's just how it was for the people who grew up alongside the dawn of the internet, and honestly, I'm one of many people who has met real life friends through GDC so it's not like it isn't actually 'real life.' I've felt like throwing in the towel many times but I'm glad I haven't. It's very rewarding to see the sites making a comeback and to hear from others like me who are glad to see it. I won't pretend I can keep up with the other fansites when it comes to news because I can't, but for me, GDA has always been more than news anyway - it's about the community, info and fun anecdotes that aren't found anywhere else. I'll carry on doing my best for the foreseeable future ☺️9 points

This has been my hangout spot since April 21st, 2008 - the day before Stop, Drop and Roll came out. There's been crashes, drama and one time I got in trouble for asking who someone was (I gotta let it go!) - but man, it's always fun. No idea who 99% of your are in real life, but I feel like we know each other. We've been talking about Green Day together for 17 years. That's wild.6 points

This is awesome. Thank you guys for everything you do, I love GDA/GDC and feel so grateful that they're still around4 points

I see this song as - you could say something that perfectly explains how you’re feeling with eloquence, with precision; you could go into detail, bullet points, the lot. But sometimes you need to go straight to the point 👍🏻 and that’s what this song is to me haha. No beating about the bush here, just fuck off! The end4 points

Looks like my irregular lurking happens at the right time to express some gratitude. Thanks to the entire team that has kept this (now probably considered old-school) forum community alive, and thanks to those that are committing their future time to it as well. This forum and GDA is the most cozy feeling place to go to learn about anything that's happening related to Green Day. It's lovely to hear that this community will live on in the foreseeable future.4 points

Yeah this is a big part of what helped me decide to try and do more. There are some great communities out there, but reading comments on social media is depressing. It’s hard on a platform like that where you can’t moderate like you can on a forum. There are people doing good things out there, but I like the idea of something more tangible than just a feed to scroll past.4 points

I wish I had taken a video of it! It was definitely second half of the show, maybe about 3/4 of the way through. I wish I could remember which songs it was between, sorry! But I remember exactly what he said: He asked the crowd, "How're you guys doing?!", we all went "wooo!", and he went "well I'm sad....nah just kidding, I'm happy. I'm a very happy boy these days...despite everything" with a little smile on his face. I assume he meant "despite everything" referring to trump/political things3 points

👏👏👏 Welcome back and thank you for all the hard work. GDA was once a great reference resource (still is for tour dates) and I know it will be again. The occasional support and interaction of the Green Day team made this place unique too. Fan message boards were my first introduction to the internet way back when and I still love having a place just for fans to connect and interact without all the other bullshit of scams, bots and trolls. I recently deleted my Facebook and backed away from the cesspool of most social media and I’ve been focusing back on the fan and special interest forum formats I once loved through Reddit and here. Still the best.3 points

39/Smooth is turning 35 and warning 25 years. After that, it'll be a while before any albums hit big milestones. Breakdown - 20 years - 2029 Trilogy - 20 in 2032. (do a redemption tour, lol!) Rev Rad will hit 10 years next year. They could potentially do something for that. Otherwise, 20 years at 2036. Father of All - needs a redemption tour as well. 20 years in 2040. Which.....Green Day probably will have slowed down a little bit as far as touring. Maybe bonus tracks will weave together the various stages this album went through. Could be lots on the cutting room floor that weren't recycled already. Saviors turns 20 in 2044 which....holy crap, I will still be working. BUT, to always look on the bright side of life....by 2047 I WILL be retired. WOOHOO! oh yeah and Insomniac! wah-hey!2 points

Anyone else going just for the Friday? Never been before and going solo1 point

I think they were working titles, like "alright" was what they were calling Stuck With Me. There was also that interview with Kevin Army and he said that he thought everything from that session had been released. Maybe there's demos somewhere but idk1 point

Which tracks were they? Cuz those are most Likely working titles for some songs Also Warning is slightly tied into that album (C&V) which I think could give it more momentum over insomniac1 point

I mean, it's not their most sophisticated writing--and I am sure that is why it didn't originally make it onto Saviors--but I feel like it captures the current American political moment very well. I love it Billie gets political, and even if this isn't his deepest social commentary, I still really like it. I would say it is my second favorite bonus track after Ballyhoo.1 point

Wow! Great news!! 🥳 Make GDC great again. Gonna try to be more online and active like I was before. Would be cool to eventually bring back GDC Awards, April Fools day, speculations.... etc1 point

They need to play Castaway some time. Billie tried to play it in 09 and stopped at the 1st pre chorus due to forgetting lyrics I think. It actually sounded nice when played/sung more softly. I LOVE the live versions of Castaway from 2000 - 2002.1 point

I’d sell my soul for a Insomniac 30th tour playing the album front to back…hell combine it with the Warning 25th and play both albums it would be under two hours…imagine hearing Bab’s Ulva Who, Panic Song, Westbound Sign live along with Hold On, Misery and Deadbeat Holiday. A die hard Green Day fans dream.1 point
