Maybe there are no live tracks on the deluxe edition because they saved them for the upcoming live album/dvd? I so much hope for something like Awesome as F**k for the Saviors era!4 points
-
I‘ve just checked. Yes, but somehow only for the lyrics of the new songs. Interesting concept: print a text then make it unreadable…4 points

I haven't received my copies yet but so far I think they should've let this deluxe edition cook for a little longer. It's kind of disappointing. Most of the songs are mid and the two acoustic tracks are just okay. Would've loved to see some live tracks or demos to flesh it out more. The whole thing just feels rushed.3 points

Your answer is here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKKGw2LPMVN/?igsh=MWEzb2pqYWtlaGxtYg== New Nat Geo series called Underdogs on Disney+ with Ryan Reynolds. This is the theme song3 points

I did not see this one coming 😅 But I like it Amen! We really need a live DVD with full Dookie and full AI2 points

I love it...I think it's very good! Definite Whatsername vibes and something else I can't quite put my finger on.2 points

You mean the smudges? I think that’s an intentional effect. I got my vinyl copy today! I love the design of the inner fold, the collage of all the tour pics is very well done! I also like the lyrics being printed on the sleeves instead of on the rear of the poster like they have been on all the other versions.2 points

Out of curiosity, is there an edited version of these bonus tracks? I'd love to hear a "Fwoo Off"2 points

I finally got a chance to listen to these new songs and yeah I don't know what they were going for here. None of them even feel like they belong with the rest of the album, they're honestly closer to The Longshot or the new PHGP album than Saviors. Even though Belushi didn't leave much of an impression on me, I was fine with that track when I thought at the time that it was just a leftover for Saviors. But no, these songs were apparently made after Saviors specifically for the Deluxe which just makes me wonder why it's so much worse than the actual album? None of the tracks work as actual album tracks imo. I think Ballyhoo, Fuck Off and Underdog work as "B-side" type tracks even though they aren't actually B-sides. Smash It Like Belushi has only shrunk on me with more listens. Stay Young is extremely boring, repetitive and overly long. The acoustics seem unnecessary, they don't improve the songs, they're barely any different and I don't see why anyone would choose to listen to them over their originals. Very disappointing release and I didn't have very high expectations anyway. If I were to rank the entirety of Saviors + these new Deluxe songs, I think all 5 of the new tracks would probably rank at the very bottom. Maybe a couple of them would surpass One Eyed Bastard (which is my personal least favourite of the og album, I wish they were releasing a music video for a different song). I'll give them some more listens but yeah, not expecting my opinion on these tracks to change massively Apparently according to people here and on r/greenday, people giving their opinions or any kind of criticism after listening to them is them "complaining"2 points

In my opinion, their aesthetics really hit their stride starting with American Idiot. Everything before that (aside from maybe the Warning music video) just doesn't do it for me visually. That said, my favorite has to be 21st Century Breakdown. Though I'm not the biggest fan of Billie's huge hairdo during that time, everything else is top-notch when it comes to the aesthetics. The Trilogy is a close second.1 point

I’ve been humming this one since deluxe came out. Fun, inconsequential, and with an edge. Lyrics seem to be aimed at some MAGA asshat. What’s not to love?1 point

The cheapest were about $280 but they were pretty bad seats. The Offspring opened the pit and charged $50, but here's Green Day charging $5,162 for the same area 🙃1 point

Stay young is very goood, I like the nostalgic flow. But unfortunately - too repetetive, something's lacking. Though it's the best off deluxes.1 point

Hypothetically speaking, if they include the right outtakes Warning 25 would sell really fucking good1 point

This explains the Nat Geo connection. This is actually the theme song of a new nature series called Underdogs. It a project with Green Day, Ryan Reynolds, Nat Geo and Disney https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKKGw2LPMVN/?igsh=MWEzb2pqYWtlaGxtYg==1 point

Honestly my answer is weird but RevRad was the best for me. I was a huge fan, I've never peaked this much since. The front row show, the SONGS were amazing. I don't know man I really think that's when I enjoyed them the most.1 point
-
The Whatsername vibes are strong but man the hook is so weak. The song isn't bad but I think it needed more time to cook. Feels very unfinished.1 point

It's said that the new tracks were recorded aroung 6 months ago. The acuostic recordings are the same recordings as the original ones. You can clearly hear that strange change of mix in the vocals at 0:30 in Father to a Son, which also appears in the original track.1 point

Thought Linkin Park would get it. Not saying they should have, GD should.1 point

As a nerd that reads the credits, the credits confirm that the non-acoustic tracks are not from the same sessions as the main album. Different recording studio and mixer. However, it doesn't say that the acoustic tracks were recorded elsewhere, so I assume they are from the actual Saviors album sessions. Also, I wonder why is Rob Cavallo not credited with producing Underdog despite being it recorded at the same studio as the other new songs. Maybe the band recorded it before he arrived or after he left? And the credit to Nat Geo is a real head-scratcher. So Damn Juvenile Delinquents and the "Play This Sound For Your Dog" song remain in the vault... Hoping they surface one day eventually.1 point
