Honestly my answer is weird but RevRad was the best for me. I was a huge fan, I've never peaked this much since. The front row show, the SONGS were amazing. I don't know man I really think that's when I enjoyed them the most.3 points

This is my fav song from deluxe. As always, let the song take over my soul and body, and then concentrate on the lyrics message:- [Verse 1] I wanna be your underdog I'm not number one, but I'm second to none Heroes are overrated when you are the outlaw 'Cause I wanna be your underdog [Verse 2] I wanna be your underdog I'm so hideous that I'm beautiful Maybe you're one of a kind, but I'm the chosen one 'Cause I wanna be your underdog [Pre-Chorus] I'd rather live amongst the wild, wildlife Life is too short to be normal I may be ugly, but I'm larger than life I'm not a loser, I'm not a loser [Chorus] I wanna be your underdog I wanna be your underdog I wanna be your underdog I wanna be your underdog [Instrumental Break] [Pre-Chorus] I'd rather live amongst the wild, wildlife Life is too short to be normal I might be ugly, but I'm larger than life I'm not a loser, I'm not a loser [Chorus] I wanna be your underdog I wanna be your underdog I wanna be your underdog I wanna be your underdog I found this interesting online interpretation:- Embracing the Underdog Spirit: A Green Day Anthem Genuine authenticity - Celebrating individuality - Rebellious spirit defiance - Living authentically Green Day's song "Underdog" is a powerful anthem that celebrates the spirit of being an outsider and finding strength in one's uniqueness. The lyrics convey a sense of pride in not conforming to societal norms and embracing one's individuality. The repeated desire to be an "underdog" suggests a preference for authenticity over superficial success, highlighting the value of being true to oneself rather than striving for conventional heroism. The song's protagonist embraces their imperfections, describing themselves as "hideous" yet "beautiful," and "ugly" but "larger than life." This juxtaposition underscores the idea that true beauty and greatness come from within, rather than external appearances. The line "heroes are overrated when you are the outlaw" further emphasizes the rejection of traditional heroism in favor of a more rebellious, unconventional path. This perspective aligns with Green Day's punk rock ethos, which often challenges societal norms and champions individuality. "Underdog" also touches on the theme of living life to the fullest, as expressed in the lines "life is too short to be normal" and "I'd rather live amongst the wild, wildlife." These lyrics encourage listeners to embrace their wild side and reject the mundane, suggesting that true fulfillment comes from embracing one's true nature. The song's energetic and defiant tone reflects Green Day's signature style, combining catchy melodies with thought-provoking lyrics that resonate with those who feel like outsiders in a conformist world.3 points

As a nerd that reads the credits, the credits confirm that the non-acoustic tracks are not from the same sessions as the main album. Different recording studio and mixer. However, it doesn't say that the acoustic tracks were recorded elsewhere, so I assume they are from the actual Saviors album sessions. Also, I wonder why is Rob Cavallo not credited with producing Underdog despite being it recorded at the same studio as the other new songs. Maybe the band recorded it before he arrived or after he left? And the credit to Nat Geo is a real head-scratcher. So Damn Juvenile Delinquents and the "Play This Sound For Your Dog" song remain in the vault... Hoping they surface one day eventually.3 points

This is the only Green Day video I really don't like. The song is so much fun and seeing someone getting tortured/killed isn't, and neither is a child abuser (if that's what he's meant to be), and everything is ugly. Just an unnecessarily unpleasant video. The original is perfect so I'll stick with that.2 points

The Whatsername vibes are strong but man the hook is so weak. The song isn't bad but I think it needed more time to cook. Feels very unfinished.1 point

I have front stage standing too but won't be queing because of the VIP tickets. I'm up for having a meet up after one of the shows. 😊1 point

Cool, I joined too, thanks! I have front of stage tickets for both nights (first night South, second night North entrance) and as I'm coming alone, it would be cool to meet some of you. I'm planning to queue early (around 7AM).1 point

It's said that the new tracks were recorded aroung 6 months ago. The acuostic recordings are the same recordings as the original ones. You can clearly hear that strange change of mix in the vocals at 0:30 in Father to a Son, which also appears in the original track.1 point

Then stop listening to it so much! On a real note, that’s my problem too. I loved it when I first heard it because it’s so different and I love the lyrical theme. However, the more I’ve listened, the more I think about the missed opportunity with this one. And the repetition of the chorus is starting to get to me. I think just cutting out half the “Stay Young”s would help this song a ton. I even attempted to rewrite the chorus as a fun little thought exercise to keep the song fresh for me1 point

If they wanted to ever go dark or edgy then Bang Bang would have been THE song to do it in. Not OEB. I still have no idea the meaning behind the OEB video. I also wish they would add Bang Bang to the set list as it was a #1 single and cut Know Your Enemy or even May hitchin a ride. But overall waste of a video should have put the production and money behind a different song. TADIKM made sense to go wild. Ashamed that that song seems to have dropped from the setlist1 point

…when the simple act of buying tea can turn out to be quite funny. This morning I went to my favorite tea shop (that has a very charming owner) to buy the usual Sencha tea. The owner was there and began telling me about this new brand they had and how good it was, showing me the package. And on the label it said „Japan Sencha Green Day“. Hilarious: I’m very sure this German tea company has no clue that a band by that name exists nor what the expression Green Day actually means…😂 By now the owner probably was wondering why I was grinning all over my face, and so I told him that as a huge fan of the band Green Day I would of course try that tea. And he said that in the past he had also been a fan and bought all their albums. So I recommended Saviors and he promised to listen to it. What a nice shopping experience!😊1 point

The video was fine. I loved the performance bits. Billie looks fabulous. The whole time I was thinking he shouldn't have so much hair at his age! The overarching story? Eh....sure?? But the real star of the show is the OEB plushie. I want one, please.1 point

...creative? Whatever it is, all I can think about is Billie flipping off the camera. That gave me butterflies lolll. Besides that, I don't get it, but our boys look fabulous in the performing parts1 point

Tbh I've barely returned to any of their music/lyric videos since RevRad. The lyric videos from RevRad were cool and I still think a lot of their music videos from the 1994-2016 period are awesome but I just don't watch them anymore. Their new videos just don't do much for me personally.1 point
-
I’m so used to watching their live performances of OEB that hearing the original, much slower version of it is strange at this point. The music video is fine, but I agree with those saying the narrative feels a bit bare/incomplete. They had a lot of excellent music videos for this album and this one just wasn’t quite on that level.1 point
-
Confused by the point of the video? Not sure what the message is…still wished they did a video for coma City as at the end of corvette summer a welcome to coma City sign was seen. Or 1981 as that was shown as graffiti in TADIKM or Susie chapstick or father to a son as every time that was played it was always professionally recorded still hoping for a live dvd 📀 or something of them playing Saviors in full. Which they chose stronger songs for their last two video corvette summer and OEB are not the best ones1 point
-
Not sure the new video really adds anything but I like to see them too. Agree with @pacejunkie punk that the guy was a paedophile or abuser. Loved Billie’s shirt, another one with lots of text like his one last weekend.1 point
-
I hope the guy they buried was a pedophile, that was my takeaway after seeing his captors were little kids. At first I thought they were gonna bury the poor SOB alive but they didn’t go quite that far. Wild video, very reminiscent of a classic 80’s vid that tells a story I got drawn into it. The guys look great in the performance bits I always appreciate when they’re included1 point

So jealous of everyone who got to be an extra! What a cool experience! That being said, I have no idea why I can't get excited for this movie. I saw so much news about it on Insta and I just didn't care Maybe when we get closer to its release I'll care, maybe I'm just thinking about Ordinary World and how mid that was. Maybe I just want them to come back to Chicago. To a small venue. Called my house. Green Day come play my house I have a cute dog. Please and thank you.1 point
