  3. Honestly, nothing besides their side projects. It’s cool to hear their influences, but I just haven’t gotten into them. Crazy how a band you love can have strong influences from bands you won’t like much. I find that’s the case with all bands I like.

  4. Got this email from the Webby Awards newsletter Last night was the 29th Annual Webby Awards, hosted by Ilana Glazer! The night brought together the boldest and best minds on the Internet, under one roof. Their work is everything All Good about the Internet. We’ve rounded up special moments below—Ice-T saluting Snoop Dogg’s cultural and entrepreneurial legacy, the hilarious moment between Walton Goggins and Justin Theroux, an iconic 5-Word Speech from Amelia Dimoldenberg, Kenan Thompson and Marcello Hernández bringing their comedic chemistry onstage, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett shared a poignant 5-Word Speech, and special recognitions for Dr. Fei-Fei Li’s lifetime of innovating artificial intelligence, and Norman Teague for showing us what an inclusive AI future might look like. Plus, a brilliant comedic performance from host Ilana Glazer, and behind-the-scenes moments from the Webby Red Carpet, hosted by Nimay Ndolo. Follow @thewebbyawards on Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn to see the night’s best moments. I am not seeing anything green day. Kinda odd, don't you all think? If anyone has any info, please post it here Wait, I just saw this. This says that they won an award for Best Launch / Drop in Advertising and PR. I am very confused why everyone is so quiet about it.

  5. I'm (finally) updating content on GDA and want to include song meanings for Saviors. Rather than just summarize what might be floating out there on the internet I'd like to get your feedback for the meaning of each song so we can share with others. If there are interviews where the band has talked specifically about a song we can include that. If someone shares something that you think is accurate please like the post so I can make sure to give more weight to that interpretation.

  6. And they don’t mention them as much as some of their other influences. I feel like they pull more from the kinks than the artists they usually point out! Same goes for the Buzzcocks! “Everybody’s Happy Nowadays” has the same chords as the chorus as “Wake Me Up When September Ends”. Love both songs. Found out about the buzzcocks one from a Coldplay cover at the end of Shawn of the Dead!

  10. Jackass (minus the sax solo) is like a sped up version of the Kinks A Well Respected Man.

  11. I like the "no hard feelings" part of the song, that's a very sentiment to be shared in song form. Usually in Rock, everything's either antagonist, horny, sad or all of the above, lol. Also, who else is singing about Lolygagging in a sleeping bag? I bet Billie's been glamping recently and he was uh....up to no good in there. Point for originality, I think Green Day are heading in a good direction. It's really cool that the Saviors era is being explored to it's fullest potential. More singles, more videos, more random publicity thingies. I passed a 7-11 just now and thought "should I go in and check out the Punk Bunny Merch, or should I have a midlife crisis in the parking lot? Or both, perhaps?
