If I manage to be a person they pull on stage, I will say hello to them all and hopefully talk myself into the touring band. I mean their live shows have been pretty good and all, but a 4th guitarist/backing vocalist could really put them over the edge đ€Ł6 points

Oh gosh, there are so many. The Who is my all time favorite Classic Rock band because of the covers. Queen, The Replacements.....just recently got into Poison Idea. I might make a massive, rambling list later but Dude Jr is yelling at me.4 points

theres a difference though between the gillman scene (where GD was born) and a bunch of dumbasses who have nothing better to do then support a fascist leader3 points

I think American Idiot is far and above the most cohesive of the bunch, though I do really have a soft spot for the aesthetics of 21CB & Trilogy eras2 points

there's some fun, old Green Day stuff in these scans from Musician magazine2 points

The thing I find funny is the number of people insulting them on fanpages. Not the band/members pages, but like Green Day Italy, etc. It's sad enough to be on the official page of someone you hate, but how empty does your life have to be to hate obsess on a fanpage?2 points

Hey party people (at least I hope that's what those young folks today say), So I've been a fan for a while and have been collecting some stuff over the years and besides doing scans of artwork I also like to scan magazines and books. Especially this year I focused on a lot of Japanese mags I wanted to share since not too many people outside of Japan have seen these or people from outside of Germany have seen the German mags I also have. Since I always wanted to have the American Idiot tour book they did (actually "just" tour rehearsal photos and dates) and since it's AI's anniversary, I wanted to share HQ scans of those as well. Since I'm a perfectionist I edited the pictures to be as close as possible to the original mag or how it "should" look digitized, these took a lot of time and I wanted to share as much as possible at once with you. There's still stuff to scan and/or edit. Here's a short list of what's coming next: Warning Tour Book, Crossbeat 2001/12, Guitar Breakers 2004/10, Crossbeat 1995/11, Crossbeat 2000/08, Visions 2009/05, (maybe) Billboard 2009/05, etc. Well, here's the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Hk68uJ_YwpQBby3nlLWhRAWU6_8vdAkE?usp=sharing Enjoy!1 point

Thanks I used to post them, but I deleted my account, heh. I have done a gazillion covers. Distillers, All Time Low, Green Day, Alkaline Trio, Misfits, Ramones, The Network, NOFX, Pinhead Gunpowder, and ... more that I can't remember at the moment, lol. I sing as well, so I did some vocal covers of Hole, No Doubt, and the Cranberries.1 point

Every rock genre & subgenre you can think of, hehe. I just finished playing some Distillers, NOFX, Pinhead Gunpowder, Spitalfield, and Green Day (obviously, lol) last night . All jokes aside, super smooth, fun to play, great guitar overall OH and can't forget the Ramones!! played some of them too OH and Alkaline Trio, lol why does my memory suck1 point

Oh thatâs a nice one, what kinda stuff are you playing with it?1 point

Yeah, I saw PD support as well and didn't love them that much 𫣠Other bands Green Day has directly influenced me to check out: The Interrupters - not sure what the connection is here, but I definitely remember it being something to do with GD. The Replacements - after Beej talked about them once (Here Comes A Regular is still one of my face songs of all time).1 point
-
Sorry going of at a tangent a tad. But you've reminded of the time back in '90s when they where vilified and even hated, for signing to major label to make Dookie, although it was the right thing to do. And having to leave 924 Gilman Street as well. That must have really hurt. I remember I was so sad for them.1 point
-
I can only think they are envious of GD's success. Album sales of almost 94m, shows how much the band are appreciated, enjoyed for so many years and loved. And the band know and appreciate that. They don't realise what they are missing. Sad really. I'm sure the band just ignore them for what they are.1 point

I keep seeing conservatives trying to insult Billie and Tre on social media with 'they look like old lesbians' and I never wade into the cesspits that are internet comment sections, but in these cases I'm really having to restrain myself from pointing out that Billie and Tre would not be offended.1 point

I love thatt (especially the ring holder, hehe) I forgot this thread existed lolll. Well, everyone is probably like "STOP TALKING ABOUT UR NEW GUITAR" by now lol, cuz I have posted it now three times, haha. Anywayyyy here it is From other post: I bought a new Epiphone today. I was trying to branch out from the Gibson-brand guitars (since I already have a Maestro Les Paul), but the guitar was too perty to pass up hehe https://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone/Les-Paul-Special-Satin-E1-Electric-Guitar-Heritage-Cherry-Sunburst-1500000014896.gc1 point

I think Mike probably has worn eyeliner quite often as part of regular stage/photoshoot/event makeup, just usually in a subtle not meant to be noticed way. Probably just a bit more added as he's older in the same way they all have more of that type of makeup now alongside Billie and Tre's bolder statement eyeliner/eyeshadow. Maybe more noticeable on this good quality video.1 point

I think you may be right. Just watched the download from @Yosuke Hanamura (thank you again) and I think there is a hint of eyeliner or maybe mascara about Mike! Well spotted, maybe for tv they all had to have. Also, you canât see Billieâs moles on his cheek, so make up def there.1 point

It definitely looks cool. Now is announced that some bands will play whole records I'm very tempted to go. I mean, what a better deal than seeing Bad Religion playing Suffer and end up the week seeing Green Day playing whatever they want to play Besides, it would be an amazing gift for my gf that is finishing her studies. But is that or waiting for the southamerican dates... Let's see what happens1 point

Along with the walk of fame star celebration they are releasing Ballyhoo next Friday too!!! Check on your mailbox guys đ1 point

Got my 3 day pass yesterday. Letting you guys know first. Breaking news. I will be staying at the Green Day stage the entire day to be as close to the stage as possible. Beer shall be a noble sacrifice. Water too, but who needs thatâŠactually Iâll bring a water backpack. Letâs go September!!! P.S. I was going to write this in the ârandom Green Day thoughtsâ thread, but I saw this was already made â. Sometimes I forget I can make a thread too lol1 point

that doesnt really give much insight into it not being an instrumental besides the fact that its not as reflective as Stay Young it could just be a really long solo that is as explosive as Belushi and presumably Fuck Off1 point
-
It's not instrumental 1234 Go has a brief description about the new songs: "This expanded version includes 7 bonus tracks: the explosive âSmash It Like Belushi,â âFuck Off,â âBallyhooâ and âUnderdog,â a reflective âStay Young".1 point

Green Day getting banned for something they didn't do is wtf. Also i noticed that on itunes saviors deluxe store page. All saviors tracks are in pre-order state. Are we getting a saviors remastered tracks? Dookie 30th anniversary and american idiot 20th anniversary had all their standard tracks available to play /download after you pre-order the album. The reason why i said "REMASTERED" is because keane did this on their hopes and fears 20th anniversary where the remastered standard tracks are not available to play until release day and it was a new different remaster mix instead of using the 2009 remasters.1 point

Yeah I knew about the mic (which is why I probably should've fully guessed about the ear pieces!). I can just imagine them cracking jokes into it from time to time.1 point
-
The nice thing about in ear monitors is each one is customized for each player so they get the mix that suits them best and can hear what they need to. They can also communicate with each other on stage through the in ears via one microphone that you can sometimes see set back near the drum kit. Billie can speak in that one to call an audible or make a comment and the other players can hear him but the audience can't.1 point

We had a similar experience at a show with the Donots (that German punk band that opened for Green Day last summer in Berlin and Hamburg): the bandâs tech guy accidentally exchanged the in-ears of the singer and the guitarist. The result was endearingly chaoticâŠđ But I can imagine that Billie can cope with such a situation, no problemâŠ1 point

I think itâs a great sign weâre getting a deluxe. For YEARS this boys have been far behind on music promo, and this new era seems to have new management behind the scenes getting these videos, tracks, and social posts out there. Itâll also tie in nicely with their upcoming Coachella set, which youâd want new music prepared for. Whether youâre a fan of deluxe editions or not, itâs very commonplace these days in music and from a marketing perspective it does a lot to extend the otherwise short lifespan of an album in the current music landscape. That said, Iâm happy the boys have a competent team behind them now, and it shows because we are getting FED! đ„ł1 point

To answer this I decided to do research and count up how many songs from each album are in my GD favorite songs playlist. 21 CB/Warning tied for first and RevRad/Saviors tied for secondâŠand the science is right, because those four are exactly what I wouldâve picked as my favorite Green Day albums. Iâd say the common theme between all four is the sharp writing. 21CB is so sweeping and ambitious, I love acoustic rock and so Warning has always appealed to me, and I love the mix of old and new sounds on RevRad and Saviors. The latter two are both just fun albums that really convey what Green Day feels like to me â warm, heartfelt, honest, and worried about the world.1 point
