https://www.msn.com/en-gb/entertainment/music/25-songs-with-hidden-meanings-nobody-noticed-for-decades/ss-AA1DjhSj?ocid=msedgntp&pc=DCTS&cvid=78ac01937b034b1d911eaffaa84fe07a&ei=23#image=25 This review looks at 25 nominated songs stating that they had a hidden meaning nobody noticed for decades. For the 25th song they've nominated Green Day's Good Riddance (Time of Your Life). Just in case link doesn't work listing other bands, here's the comment for Green Day. "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" – Green Day Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" is often played at graduations and farewells, celebrated as a song about cherishing memories. Billie Joe Armstrong, however, wrote the song sarcastically after a painful breakup, wishing his ex well but with a sting in the words. The acoustic sound and reflective lyrics make it easy to interpret as sentimental, but the underlying bitterness is clear if you pay attention. Released in 1997, the song’s dual meaning has made it a staple of both happy and sad occasions. The irony is that so many people have found comfort in a song that was meant as a goodbye, not a celebration.3 points

On a side note, I’m pleasantly surprised to see all the praise for Green Day‘s performance online. I wasn’t sure if their music would resonate with the Coachella crowd, but it seems like most people really enjoyed their set, and I even saw some articles naming them as the highlight of the whole festival. There was one post about Travis Scott‘s performance where people commented that it fell flat because of the high standards set by Green Day before. I’ve got no idea if this is true or not, but it seems like in recent months, the band is finally getting the recognition they deserve. There was a time where they were the punching bag for a lot of frustrated rock fans, but these days, it seems like most people seem to acknowledge their contribution to rock music history and the fact that they are still one of the best live bands out there.3 points

I'm not a festival person, so I'm leaning towards no. Riot Fest is the only fest is consider going to, but there's not many others on the bill I really care about. If Jack White were on GD'S day I'd be more likely to. Hasn't stopped me from checking prices though...2 points

This is what I'm hoping for and that I think might realistically happen. 🤞2 points

I think setlist wise it could be similar to the Asia shows. It seems they manage way more songs than expected so there could be a surprise or two. I'd love to hear Christie Road or Holden Caufield2 points

Hahah I saw that no one reacted to my thread, and I was all hyped, so I was yelling "WHERE IS EVERYBODY" lol I missed it tho cuz the dumbass webby awards didn't announce the time until it was too late lol. I wanted to see itttt (if it was streamed idek if it was)2 points

Gahhh, I can't find it either. Everyone's personal live stream ended before Dearly Beloved. The official live stream is not available after it ends; my previous post of the link says the video is now "private." It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I guess! Sorry you had to miss it; it was magical .2 points

Wish I could go but that would mean a flight and a hotel for me. I'll be there in spirit 🥲2 points

Keeping my fingers crossed for some free passes finding you. Yeah I'm the same about festivals, but I feel like I'd be too tempted if it was something in my neck of the woods1 point

Oh yeah how could I forget his pics with Billie . That's cool, look forward to seeing both speakers1 point

Love that Serena's doing it! Ryan Reynolds seems random but maybe he's a fan1 point

I have no plans to. I really need to save money plus I don't like festivals. Last time I went to riot fest I didn't have the best time. BUT if I get free passes....you know I'm going1 point

It's the smallest to biggest thing that just makes the most sense (ofc it *would* having used it all my life). But the day comes first as those are repeated (mostly) each month, then when in the year, and then if you're really confused the year itself. 😅 The one that always gets me with Americans is the time thing with the TV. Like when I see stuff that says it's on at "8/7 Central" - wtf does that mean? I get you have different time zones, but why are the numbers backwards??1 point

It was a great show, I love Coachella. It was fun. The music was great from all the artists. I love going there.1 point

It's not instrumental 1234 Go has a brief description about the new songs: "This expanded version includes 7 bonus tracks: the explosive “Smash It Like Belushi,” “Fuck Off,” “Ballyhoo” and “Underdog,” a reflective “Stay Young".1 point

It takes a bit for me to fangirl, and I'll admit I didn't fully understand you folks' obsession with Billie's floofy hair... until the Coachella pictures from the last night, oh my! I was like 🤯 Now I need to go watch the show1 point

Hey everyone! I know this is a bit random, but I just wanted to thank all of you for being so kind. I really feel at home here, and I look forward to discussing our favorite band together every day. Thank you all for making my life suck a little less ❤️1 point

This is easily gonna be in my top three of Green Day albums. I never list Dookie or AI in my top three because they’re overplayed, so as great as they are, of the top three albums I can listen to on repeat: 1. Nimrod 2. Saviors 3. 21CB (bumping Warning out of the top three)1 point
